There's loads of interesting data in this one: https://www.mdpi.com/2223-7747/9/1/119/htm (open access) (Plants 2020, 9, 119; doi:10.3390/plants9010119) Citrus limon (Lemon) Phenomenon—A Review of the Chemistry, Pharmacological Properties, Applications in the Modern Pharmaceutical, Food, and Cosmetics Industries, and Biotechnological StudiesMarta Klimek-Szczykutowicz, Agnieszka Szopa and Halina Ekiert Quote:Abstract: This review presents important botanical, chemical and pharmacological characteristics of Citrus limon (lemon)—a species with valuable pharmaceutical, cosmetic and culinary (healthy food) properties. A short description of the genus Citrus is followed by information on the chemical composition, metabolomic studies and biological activities of the main raw materials obtained from C. limon (fruit extract, juice, essential oil). The valuable biological activity of C. limon is determined by its high content of phenolic compounds, mainly flavonoids (e.g., diosmin, hesperidin, limocitrin) and phenolic acids (e.g., ferulic, synapic, p-hydroxybenzoic acids). The essential oil is rich in bioactive monoterpenoids such as D-limonene, β-pinene, γ-terpinene. Recently scientifically proven therapeutic activities of C. limon include anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, anticancer and antiparasitic activities. The review pays particular attention, with references to published scientific research, to the use of C. limon in the food industry and cosmetology. It also addresses the safety of use and potential phototoxicity of the raw materials. Lastly, the review emphasizes the significance of biotechnological studies on C. limon.

The field acts on the observer and puts him in a privileged position vis-à-vis the universe. From this position he has access to the realities which are ordinarily hidden from us by time and space, matter and energy. This is what we call the Great Work." ― Jacques Bergier, quoting Fulcanelli

Yes, surely great! And what diversity! Finger Lime: Buddha's hand: I really like Yuzu and hope to get a plant to try at my zone (guess I have to take it in during winter). Also regarding being on this forum, it's intriguing how Grape changes the metabolism of different substances. Thanks for the post!

There's a reason lemon is the GOAT for acidifying husca brews! I don't want comfort. I want God, I want poetry, I want real danger, I want freedom, I want goodness. I want a clever signature.

Lemons literally saved my life. Lemon juice in water was the only thing I could drink (not even plain water) when I experienced severe liver failure some years ago. Before that point I had already accepted that my life was over. It's crazy how it was, thinking back to that time. murklan wrote:I really like Yuzu and hope to get a plats to try at my zone (guess I have to take it in during winter).

Yuzu oil does smell wonderful! I was looking at some kumquat plants last year but they were too expensive. I pondered for some time before realising you were referring to grapefruit. It's quite important to know that grapefruit contains a very powerful inhibitor of CYP3A4, a key enzyme in the metabolism of numerous drugs. https://en.wikipedia.org...2%80%93drug_interactionsAnd thanks for the great pictures. That Buddha's hand lemon is pretty unbelievable! “There is a way of manipulating matter and energy so as to produce what modern scientists call 'a field of force'. Great to see that you got throught it. I've not had any kind of that sereve illness but in gereral its somewhat strange in retrospect to think about what you've fellt and experienced, the different lifes within ones life. .. and yet life continues. downwardsfromzero wrote:Yuzu oil does smell wonderful! There are also alot of varieties that I some day hope to get the chance of trying. The trees also seems quite cold hardy. downwardsfromzero wrote: I pondered for some time before realising you were referring to grapefruit. It's interesting that such a common fruit (and juice) can have that effect (and without warning signs).
