Hi, I just got my results back from Energy Control for an old A. confusa extraction. I just wanted to let people know that2-Methyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-b-carboline was the only alkaloid detected other than DMT and NMT. I wanted to pass that on, since I don't know of any reports out there of it being found in extracts of A. confusa. I'm not on here often, so my apologies if I don't respond in a timely fashion

interesting. more and more it seems like most of the effect differences are regarding NMT vs DMT ratios, though I don't really understand the effect of 2mthc and after searching didn't really learn much.

Does anyone have more info on the psychoactive effects of 2mthc?

2mthbc is present in many (all?) DMT-containing plants as a part of normal plant metabolism, generally always in trace/minor quantities, it can be detected in ayahuasca samples too, also iirc its one of the minor DMT metabolites in humans.

There seems to be very little info on the pharmacology of this compound but even if it was active in some way, in the amounts found in these plants I'd suspect it would be irrelevant in terms of psychoactivity

Here's an old thread with some papers and info on it:

Thanks Endlessness, yeah, that's the thread I found, but didn't answer the question about activity. Sounds like you don't think it plays much of a role if any and looking at some of the methanol soak graphs I can see what you mean by its amplitude (assuming I am reading those correctly in that sense).

Do you have any personal experience with isolating and trying pure NMT in any form? Vaporized? What was it like?
