Having never experienced "ego death" on spice, I wondered if anyone could elaborate on the experience, and how it differs to a "normal" spice journey:

Some sources report that bizarre as the DMT experience is, it does not affect your mind. As in, you can experience impossible visuals, profound feelings and feel the presence of entities, but still be able to experience these things with a relatively intact sense of self, and sense of reason. This has described my friends experiences thus far.

Yet I often read about people experiencing ego death. Having not had this happen myself, it leads me to ask: which is it? I imagine with ego death one would not be able to ponder what was happening to you, as in the DMT has affected your mind!

The closest my friend comes to this feeling, is being so totally absorbed in the experience, that he forgets that "I am" and is totally engrossed in the experience. This doesn't sound like the ego death I hear described though. It is more like when you are "in the zone" when totally engrossed in concentration on something. To a certain degree, this can happen when sober however.

What are your thoughts on the different states of mind here?

1664 I am still experimenting with the same here as well , so I cannot tell what it is like with just DMT yet . I know what ego death is like on other materials though . When your entire being dissolves , when you loose total contact with your physical body and the person you think of as yourself and become absorbed into and become pure energy , you die to "self" .
This experience brings a paradigm shift of tremendous lasting proportion , it cannot be ignored . This I have yet to experience on DMT alone, visuals are nice and such , but I am not looking for entertainment nor a stone , I am looking for very specific information that cannot be obtained in a normal state of awareness .

I continue the search , good luck with yours .

Namaste

The Pahnke-Richards Mystical Experience scale breaks it up into two parts, for any psychedelic: internal and external unity

I. Internal Unity score out of 6
1. Loss of your usual identity.
2. Freedom from the limitations of your personal self and feeling a unity or bond with what was felt to be greater than your personal self.
3. Experience of pure Being and pure awareness (beyond the world of sense impressions).
4. Experience of oneness in relation to an “inner world” within.
5. Experience of the fusion of your personal self into a larger whole.
6. Experience of unity with ultimate reality.

II. External Unity score out of 6
1. Experience of oneness or unity with objects and/or persons perceived in your surroundings
2. With eyes open, seeing something in your surroundings more and more intensely and then feeling as though you and it become one.
3. Experience of the insight that “all is One”.
4. Loss of feelings of difference between yourself and objects or persons in your surroundings.
5. Intuitive insight into the inner nature of objects and/or persons in your surroundings.
6. Awareness of the life or living presence in all things.
He led a double life. Did that make him a liar? He did not feel a liar. He was a man of two truths. - Murdoch, Dame [Jean] Iris

Kartikay is a character role that I play when I feel like escaping reality. Nothing I say under the pseudonym "Kartikay" reflects any of my actual life or personal history.
