Afternoon folks, hope all's well Smile

I'm from the UK; England technically, though I am only about a mile from the Welsh border.

I've been interested in psychedelic drugs since I was about 12 years old. I had no friends or brothers who were in to drugs, but at age 13 I managed to find myself some cannabis at school, then first tried LSD at 14. Since then I have dabbled in many other psychedelics (Mushrooms, Salvia, DMT in various forms, Nbomes, 2cb, DOB, Mescaline, various magic mushroom analogues, LSD analogues, and others) and also like to grow my own magic mushrooms.

I'm a bit of a history buff and also a Christian at heart, though wholly non-denominational (Anarchist Christianity personally).

Thanks for having me guys.

Also, If I may ask this question - I am looking at trying Syrian Rue for depression. My depression manifests itself mainly in extreme lack of motivation (Which I feel due to my heavy amphetamine abuse (A gramme every week day, anywhere from 10 - 14 grammes over the weekend)) and I believe that lightly dosing with Syrian Rue - As I have seen others have done - could be beneficial.
Does anyone else have experience with this? What dose did you take? How did you find it?

Thank you Smile

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

Welcome to the Nexus!

If you have a serious medical condition you should consult a good doctor about it. We can all give opinions but please be wary of any suggestions over the internet because we don't see the full picture, there might be important details missing and most of us aren't medical experts.

That being said, from what you mentioned, your amphetamine usage is off the charts, that sounds extremely unhealthy! Have you stopped yet? If not, any plans to? First of all, mixing MAOIs like syrian rue and stimulants is a big no-no, pharmacologically dangerous. Secondly, even if we'd be talking about another harmless plant with no interaction, I'd feel that would only be distracting you from the real issue. Its like someone eating 20 icecreams a day and asking for a diet coke in a restaurant...

But maybe I understood it wrong and you have already stopped using amphetamine and are now just dealing with the after-effects of your abuse.. Then I can understand you are looking for plant allies to help, and you may find something that helps a bit, not sure if syrian rue is the best for this specific scenario. Maybe others can chime in.

Do you exercise? Do you eat well? Do you sleep well? Often people overlook those things in search of other magic cures, but the basics are the key imo, they are a huge part of achieving and maintaining health.

Either way, good luck in your path, and welcome to the Nexus!

Aye have consulted doctors, and have been prescribed many different medications - Various SSRIs, SNRIs, tricyclic antidepressants, Modafanil - all to no avail. I've had many tests done to rule out certain things and such, again with no real success.

Ah yes I haven't been an amphetamine addict for quite a while now - It was mainly between the ages of 17 - 20 where it was bad. Apart from at a Psytrance party or festival I never touch it, and even then it is only in small functional amounts.

Aye yes that is right. It took a good year to return to a semi-sensible sleep schedule and to regain semi-normal emotions and such, I don't think any amount of time will reverse the damage completely.

I sleep very well - 8 hours a night, I usually wake once or twice but I always fall back easily - I eat healthy enough, shall we say, and while I do not do intense exercise I do work a very manual job (On a farm) as well as walking at least 2 miles every day (With the dogs). I am hoping to start biking soon with friends, also.

Thank you for taking the time to reply Endlessness, it is much appreciated Smile

Do you have anything you could recommend, in regards to plant medicines?

I urge you simply to walk in nature in your local area. Get yourself a nice herbal field guide book to take with you. See if your are attracted to any particular plants. Identify them and research their history and uses. Forming a connection with the landscape around you is an important part of the the healing path - and from what I gather you have plenty of opportunity to foster this connection within your present occupation?

There are several field guides I could recommend to you but these two particularly nice books spring to mind:

Hedgerow Medicine

and its companion volume, Wayside Medicine

If those grab your interest, you might want to take it further with something like this:
The Herbalist's Bible

(Please note that I have - or know of - no connection with the authors, publishers or website owners! I'm simply an erstwhile member of the herbalist community and really like their books.)

Wishing you well in your journey of recovery Love

Here's a video that may be of some use:
