I have never heard of anybody who needs 100 grams of chacruna or 20 grams of mimosa to have visual and psychedelic effects but there are numerous people who need over 100 mg of pure free-base DMT for this, if taken orally.
One reason is that MHRB is rich in alkaloids! People usually extract with naphtha and get a 0.5-1%, but this is not good as a surrogate for estimating the strength of mimosa. Other people extract with xylene/tolueene/dcm and get up to 2%
active alkaloids, so one may claim immediately that 10g of MHRB contain 200mg of actives, already a very strong dose for the majority.
The other reason is on the other things that MHRB (or charcruna or chaliponga) contain. A lot of other molecules, not necessarily alkaloids in nature (people tend to think that "alkaloids" are the good shit, but the many active substances need not to be alkaloidal in nature!) are in dmt-containing plants and can modulate the experience in their own way. Which way is that, we still do not know exactly yet.
