So I've been looking into some of the less labour intensive ways of extracting mescaline from cacti, and I've come across "House's cacti preparation tek" in the wiki. The basic idea is to boil down the cactus in water, then evaporate it, while doing as much as possible throughout to limit wax and unwanted sediment/particulate before the final evaporation.

The tek is here.

In addition to the steps included in the tek would it also be possible to clarify the solution further by cooling it down and using gelatin as a fining/clarifying agent without causing the mescaline to sink?

I would say that gelatin will not work at all, but never tried it.

Very effective is to dissolve product of House's tek in warm 85% alcohol, let cool and settle, then separate and evaporate liquid.

Thanks for the reply. Just to explain further, my reasoning is that the techniques used to remove suspended particles in beer and fruit juice should equally work for cactus tea (and therefore should be pretty low effort).... But if applying those techniques also causes the mescaline to sink with the particulate then there isn't any point in it.

You've said I can clean it up with warm alcohol (ethanol?).
