I drank a tea made from 4g (and change) of whole rue seeds. Lemme just say, this was probably the most gross experience with a drug I've ever had, just in terms of body load. It was incredibly nauseating just to keep my eyes open and I waa super drowsy anyways, so basically the whole trip was just lying belly-down on my bed. It felt like I was in every possible physical orientation at once and it was taking every ounce of my being not to puke. The experience was very introspective, nonetheless, and even a tiny bit visual.

Anyhow, that's mostly beside the point. After a while of just lying in bed perfectly still, my thoughts would become distant. They would begin to move someplace outside my skull, and then come on either expontentially more rapidly or more slowly, like spinning a record on a turntable with your hand. Then, just as I would be on the brink of losing consciousness, a very rapid build-up of energy... and FWAM!!! My head got lobbed off by a guillotine!
Or not, as I realized soon after I was jolted awake. This happened a second time, but it was less guillotine-ey and more touching-an-electrical-main-with-a-copper-pipe-ey.

Is this what they call a brain zap? Do people usually get zapped on rue?
I don't want comfort. I want God, I want poetry, I want real danger, I want freedom, I want goodness. I want a clever signature.

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

I've experienced brain zaps even on sublingual harmine alone.

But I find that those zaps are somewhat unreliable and maybe depend on my current brain chemistry (and are possibly linked to sleep deprivation, but I'm not sure). Some plants are almost guaranteed to give me zaps (e.g. MHRB), while others have only given me zaps occasionally.

I once went through a period I'd experience brain zaps every time with chali and caapi (I drank maybe 3 times over the course of a week), and then something must have changed in me because the same brew didn't give me zaps anymore.

I think it takes some time to get used to harmalas, even if you've been experienced and take some time off I've felt the need to ease back into being able to handle proper doses comfortably.

I've certainly gotten some nasty side effects from Peganum, restless sleepiness, distraction and irritability... but if one starts on the very low side and slowly eases into it over a period of days, for me it gets more comfortable and less "weird". The euphoria of tactile sensation becomes more apparent and easy to deal with. The sensations start to blend into a normal state of being. I don't feel as hot and bothered by it.

I can't say I've gotten too much "zapping", personally...

My dreams are pretty definitely intensified though, sometimes it gets difficult to handle, at least if they're not fun dreams.

Yes, intense memorable dreams...

I never experienced zaps over countless experiences...
The consciousness of plants is a constant source of information for medicine, alimentation, and art, and an example of the intelligence and creative imagination of nature. Much of my education I owe to the intelligence of these great teachers. Thus I consider myself to be the “representative” of plants, and for this reason I assert that if they cut down the trees and burn what’s left of the rainforests, it is the same as burning a whole library of books without ever having read them.
