I am not new to DMT but I am new to DMT-Nexus, so hello! I've been using psychedelics and other psychoactives for more than a decade, recreation ally and spiritually, and have had the honor of trip sitting for many friends. A couple of years ago I was finally ready to discover DMT, and my life has never been the same.

Unfortunately, none of my friends are interested in DMT; most of them have pretty negative and judgemental attitudes about it, which has been really disappointing. They don't like when I talk about my experiences and they freak out when I talk about existential topics; especially if I start questioning the nature of reality, they just shut down. They are still on their own journeys of using psychedelics to overcome trauma and existential anxiety, something long in the past for myself, so, while I can support them in their journey to inner peace, they cannot support me in mine to spiritual growth, and I feel myself pulling away further and further away from them.

So here I am Smile

A few months ago I switched from a torch/pipe to a RTA vape, and it has opened amazing doors for me by dramatically increasing dose control, trip consistency, and safety, as well as portability for use outside the home. I have been experimenting with microdosing throughout the day to improve my general mental health, especially during the crisis. I've also spent a lot of time hanging out in the waiting room listening to music, and blasted into hyperspace a few times. So far, I've found my hyperspace experiences outside to be intense mystical experiences, but inside I have been steamrolled a few times, so I'm currently working up my doses indoors and practicing self-soothing techniques to detach myself from the intensity of a trip. I'm also working on documenting my trips, as I've found it very difficult to remember more than bits and pieces.

Besides that, I'm an autodidactic scientist (Working on my PhD), and I have a background in chemistry, botany, and computer architecture. I hope to one day live in a community of like-minded psychonauts who can all support each other in this spiritual pursuit.

STS is a community for people interested in growing, preserving and researching botanical species, particularly those with remarkable therapeutic and/or psychoactive properties.

Welcome

Outdoors rulz... also for me :-) I heard that some Umbadaime ceremonies take place at night in forests.

I wonder, have you tried microdosing at 4-5am then sleep back and see how the quality and content of the sleep change? I tried it experimentally a few times... and it was quuuiiite niceee.

Hugs

Welcome to the nexus! Safe travels Pat Love

What do you consider a microdose in terms of mass and effects?

I can certainly relate to people reacting negatively to existential topics and using vaporized tryptamines, but I wonder if some of it might be a reaction to your framing of the situation. If I were incredulous and wary, I would probably be turned off by someone who felt that they were growing beyond their peers spiritually by having bizarre experiences smoking purified drugs (and they seem overly interested in interpreting these experiences). Kind of like a religious person seeming to overshare or proselytize a little.

Hi everyone, thank you for the kind words and warm welcome.

@Ovidiu, I have not tried taking it late at night. I have found my trips at night to come with a heavy dose of paranoia or anxiety that seems to come from no thought. I've been getting better at allowing those feelings to pass over me but I'm reluctant to experiment too much without a sitter. I will keep your suggestion in mind 😊

@RoundAbout, Since I am using am RTA it is difficult to estimate the actual dosage. However, the DMT is dissolved in a solution of 50/50 PEG/VG at a ratio of 1g DMT per 1mL of premixed liquid. I figure the final concentration is on the order of 1g per 2mL but I did not measure the final volume of the solution. The vape is a dual coil and puts out 50w. I consider anything that allows me to continue to function normally to be a microdose, which is anything up to a count of 3 on the vape Button.

The effect is of course mildly psychedelic and produces minor visual and auditory distortions along with mild euphoria. Generally I feel rejuvenated and energetic afterwards as if I had taken a short nap. I also note a that I feel I am breathing more deeply afterwards.

I think you are right that my friends are anxious that I might be losing it. Generally I have always been very comfortable discussing morbid and existential topics in an emotionally detached perspective, and most people are very uncomfortable even considering philosophical positions like antirealism or solipsim because, well, ego and existential anxiety. In their shoes, I would not ever have been disturbed if a close friend confided that they have lost faith in consensus reality, because I have always felt that way prior to my psychedelic experiences, and they only strengthened my beliefs. But to other people, a sudden interest in talking about these topics makes them immediately think I'm going to hurt myself or someone else to try and prove it's not real, when I'm long past caring one way or the other, which is a position I think they can't really fathom without having experienced hyperspace for themselves. And as all of them are terrified of DMT, here I am, alone among my friends, for the foreseeable future. I have come to the conclusion that they are on a different path.
