Hi all,

I have been using a bulb pipe to vape with very good results and a small glass bong to smoke Changa. I bought a Glass VaporGenie and after close inspection, I am not sure how it works.

The instructions are NOT to apply direct flame to the little carbon filter. The screen is about 1cm away from the bottom of the carbon filter.

1) does it really heat up enough to vape the spice without applying direct flame to the filter? (I am using a torch lighter)
2) do you put the spice directly on the screen? (won't it melt through)
3) should I use an ashbed or leaf bed for the screen?

3) would be inconvenient for me as I don't smoke anything like tobacco or weed. I have changa lying around, but I don't smoke the spice very often, at least not often enough to build up a stash of ash.

Basically, how do you load your Glass VaporGenie?

Use 5-6 screens, lay some sort of herb down then ur spice, else it will melt through the screen.

Yes it does heat up quickly, the harder you pull the hotter it gets.

What about the lighter? Should I use the torch lighter across the top? Will it suck in the heat or do you apply some flame to the filter?

Point the flame towards the carbon filter, you gotta just move it closer and further away, im not sure how big you flame is but after a few seconds you should see vapour.

Get yourself a torch style lighter. Throw as many screens (5- into the VG's bowl. Place your DMT in the bowl and put the cap on. Shoot the torch flame down toward the ceramic element ( i do not particularly try to avoid touching the flame to the element) Now just inhale slowly, your spice will vaporize quickly and you should be able to clear 50mg in 2-3 tokes easily. You may have some residue build up and eventually, if you don't clean your pipe, the whole thing will be covered with circular crystal patterns as the tiny bit of spice that clings to the glass collects.

Just got this nice piece of glass couple of days ago, it's pretty easy to use, I'm just worry to heat up too much the filter. Anyone found it fragile used directly with a torch lighter ?

Ive had no problem using a regular flame or a torch lighter.

So we shouldn't be worry about the ceramic filter ? Sherlock's from the future design is funny. I like the axe-pack hard case too, it looks like an tiny violin box in it !!

Can this pipe be used slightly tilted on it's side or do people tend to use it upright? (the melted spice might not run through the screens)

the filter was developed by NASA as some sort of heat shield..you dont have to worry about the filter getting too hot

ghostman - If you're in the US, where did you get your glass VG? I'm currently trying to decide between the VC and the Vapbong. Time to upgrade my old hardware. Also, keep us posted on how it works for you. I'd like to know!

For me, it works wonders with spice and changa, very easy to vap the pre mesured dose. Deffinately worth the bucks.
