I have a few questions:
1) SWIM has been saving all the leftover MHRB after processing it, is there anything he can do with it? 2) Is it necessary to add more lye when doing extra pulls of the same batch? 3) What is the best way to filter it after crystallization? Coffee filters are very inefficient SWIM feels like a lot of "stuff" gets stuck there and can't really scrape it off.
thanks in advance for the input.

I think you could use the spent bark for dye, beyond that Iâm not sure. No, there shouldnât be a need for more lye on subsequent pills. Salt is used by some to increase polarity, others say it decreases yield, the jury is still out. And if you feel you have more on the coffee filter that you canât scrspe off, soak it in a tiny amount of solvent and squeeze out the filter to collect the solvent and evap or freeze. I see. Thank you very much. SWIM hasn't used salt yet in any of his pulls and it seems to be going just fine so I don't think he's going to start using it now. Increase in polarity just means the naphtha will absorb it easier right? "theoretically"?

Basically yes, it means the molecules will be repelled by the basic soup and jump into the solvent easier(chemists correct me if Iâm wrong) I have added salt(non iodized, just plain NaCl), which increased the yield after adding before 3rd pull. Same amounts of solvent each pull, about same amount of agitation, but the third pull had by far the most in it. And there are a few threads out there that argue the opposite, where they added salt and it seemed to decrease their yields. Interesting. Now I've read usually yield should be around 1% of total precursor? is this correct? Do you keep doing pulls until you cant get anymore out or until it feels not worth it to go through the process again? because SWIM reached the 1% mark pretty spot on and he's wondering if he can squeeze any more out of the main soup before he discards everything. I guess the only way is to do a pull. Anyways thanks for the quick replies and information <3 edit- Added photos of SWIM last pull off 500G MHRB. got 5.8 grams zdank attached the following image(s): 20200321_200737.jpg (3,174kb) downloaded 58 time(s). 20200321_200743.jpg (2,653kb) downloaded 57 time(s).

I believe mimosa should be more around 1.5-2%. Acacia is lower, closer to that 1%. I always go by judgement of my last pull. While pull A is in freezer, I will be mixing pull B. Once A is done, I make the judgement on whether to go onto pullC, or if I feel pull B already has what is left, and so on. 🤙 âYou think thatâs air youâre breathing?â -Morpheus âWhoa fellas, Iâm feeling kinda bowling ball-ish.â -Leopold Butters Stoch Itâs got what plants crave. -Brawndo

Mimosa is often almost 2%. Yield of each pull depends also on decomposition of bark. In STB teks, later pulls could be better as spice is more available to solvent.

Me too, I continue pulling until yield per pull falls below the limit where i don't want to bother anymore
