Salutations everyone! I go by Salem and I'm happy to be here.

I'm a college sophomore, and I intend to slowly but surely make my way to graduate school and use psychedelics/Entheogens to assist the elderly with End-Of-Life Anxiety in medical context.

I've made use of and lurked these forums for about a decade now and its about time I joined up. I've contributed heavily to the Psychonaut Wiki, and I hope to become an active and welcomed member of this community as well. Ill do my best anyway, I know there are a lot of great minds here.

I appreciate the opportunity to share this space with you all, this space which has brought so much important knowledge to the world.

Thank You.

Welcome to the Nexus. What kind of contributions have you made to the psychonaught wiki?

Hi guys! I'm really happy to be here.

Scylla, Thank you! Your most recent comment deserves a response but one that may take me a while to put together. Thanks! Smile

Achilles, I appreciate your kind words. That is why I came around these parts, to learn as much as I can from all of you guys!

Cactus Man, Thanks much M8! Hope to see you around!

Vibe Surfer, great question! My name is the same on there, and I contributed about 5-7 years ago. I recently required my account which was so old it wasn't even a req. to attach an email so I had to go through this whole thing ahah. All the experience reports with the name "Salem" attached to them. Again, very old reports. I want to go back and update the writing. I had a load of user talks but they have since become obsolete and user talks are no longer a thing. I also, with the help of this very site and many others, posted various teks. YOu can see that at the bottom of many teks if you look at the edit history. I must admit some of the ones I put up were moved "Reposted" by Cocoanata. So she got credit for some of them, which bothers me more than it should because all of the information came from other people anyway, I had just complied it. I don't even know the exact sources I compiled it from because at the time they wouldn't let me credit the true pioneres who created the teks.

Im sure you're wondering so I started the following wiki pages:
(again I stress that I am not any of the clever people who did the true legwork for this knowledge, I just posted it on the site, and much of it probably needs to be updated.)
* Outdoor Mushroom Cultivation
* Mushroom Chocolates
* Cannabis Cookies
* Cannabis Butter
* The Changa Preparation Guide (Thanks to all of you nice folk) Coco got the credit for that one. Which I keep having to remind myself is okay because I just put it together from these forums anyway.
* Crude Iso Canna-Oil
* Tincture of LSA extract (again, probably all you guys)
I also Posted the Norman and Marsifold Tek. The Norman was basically just copied over but the A/B Extraction based on the Marsifold tek is the Marsifold with a few of my notes in there.

__ There are a few pages I intended to put up there which have remained unfinished red links for years. Like The cacti growing Tips.

The Experience Reports Have my name on them so I dont suppose Ill need to specify.

Thanks for the question! Smile

Welcome Salem =) I hope you have a nice time here with us. Q: Have you eaten a lot of cannabis? I remember my oral cannabis experiences very fondly, bordering the divine and many times reaching the very gates of hyperspace.

Hi FranLover!

Yes, I've eaten quite a bit of cannabis, but not always successfully. As much as I love it, It can be pretty hit and miss. But, boy, when it hits. <3

I'm sure you know, but in case anyone doesn't. Delta-9-THC is metabolized into 11-hydroxy-THC in the liver if the weed is de-carbed first. (Im pretty sure it has to be decarbed first.)

So edibles are much more powerful than the same dose of marijuana smoked.

I never reach what might be called hyperspace, but on occasion, I am gifted with the most beautiful green, purple and blue swirling visions behind my eyelids. The visions are almost always accompanied by intense sedation that I cannot fight against, and I pretty much always slump into a nap - Even if I don't want to.

That's awesome! I'm really happy for you that you're doing this.

Did you edit the original post? Somehow I missed the above when I first read it. But I don't know how I missed it.

I think you are at a good time in history.

My sister has a lot of mental health problems largely due to, in my perception, very poor parenting decisions made by both of my parents at one time or another. I am not sure I would even call them decisions, more like emotionally violent outbursts of a chronic nature.

Because of this I know my parents will have very bad end of life anxiety.

I always dreamed of trying to get involved in MAPS or play some part in trying to further the use of psychedelics for use in psychotherapy.

However, I did not pursue that path largely because of fear of how my parents would perceive this. This was a poor choice on my part.

I still contribute to the space in what ways I can, but my goal in life is now to be able to eventually invest in a ranch I can use to provide affordable or free housing for disadvantaged farm workers complete with free solar power and communal electric cars. Hopefully I can get there. But it is a big moral conundrum for me because at heart I do not believe in private land ownership; but I can see no other way to achieve many goals of social equity unless the means of production are at least owned by benevolent people.

Use of psychedelics has made me consider that perhaps this is a paradigm my own mind has created through lack of purity or morals, and that these are part of lessons I need to learn...and of course as old teachings say....a lesson will be repeated until it is learned.

Psychedelics have such great healing potential for so many things.

I wish you much luck and good fortune in your aspirations to use them for good purpose.

Hi Scylla!

I'm pretty sure that was in the original post, but I tend to edit my posts quite often for better wording or because of typos or omitted notes which I find to be important later.

So sorry to hear that. You know I work with children and its become a Mantra of mine that nothing and I mean nothing, can screw a kid up worse than poor parenting.

I personally believe end-of-life anxiety is more a product of our culture than a constant for humans. We have this demand for permanence and these things we tell people they should work for and its all wrong. A lot of the elderly I've spoken to regret working so hard and not spending enough time just living life and being happy.

It is not too late for your friend! That Farm idea is a great one! No matter how old you are you can get into the cause. Either academically, politically, or by spreading information too.
Personally, I am saving up some money to afford about 1000 copies of a flyer I'm making about the benefits of psychedelics and I'm going to leave them all over town (I will use only the most recent scientific information of course).

Not that you're asking, but I don't think private land ownership is a big deal if you live on the land. The problem therein is people who buy up land to charge rent on it.

Don't worry about a lack of purity of morals. No one is pure, but you can try; you can always be better than you were yesterday.

Great idea about those flyers. Haha.

I wonder though if an infographic stapled to a bus station or transit hub would be more effective.

Or...oh this is the best. Go into the waiting room of a psychiatrist/ psychologist/ mental health department, building etc, and then leave the flyers there.

I am assuming you weren't going to be haphazard, but the thought of that hard work and money blowing away in the breeze and down a storm drain is disheartening.

My thought about end of life anxiety revolves around the way you have lived. I think end of life anxiety is likely reduced in people free of guilt. I think people are very fair in judging themselves and my mantra would be "don't be afraid to die if you are satisfied with the way you have lived." If you are not satisfied you need to search for the answer to why and I think that answer will fundamentally be about yourself, not the world around you. Even if you have guilt about things, not addressing or acknowledging that guilt and trying to repress it will be the biggest waste of your life...I think stagnation, purgatory, or suffering come from this. To truly let go of life in a positive way we need to acknowledge how we could have been better and also to be reminded by people that our very act of doing this demonstrates good intentions within us. However, we can not be guilt tripped by other people, we need to guilt and then forgive ourselves where we can. We need to be honest about who we are and humble about that realization. Dishonesty and arrogance are a recipe for anxiety.
