SWIM has a friend who is interested in psychedelics. She has no experience with any of them besides of extasy. Do you think that it is adviseable to try DMT first? She has heard a lot about possible bad trips and how bad it could be. Do not seek the truth, just drop your opinions.

Yes, if she is perfectly comfortable with the thought of taking this step. I don't see why one should need to "warm up" with all kinds of psychedelics beforehand. DMT is DMT, your mind is your mind, and it doesn't necessarily help to any great extent if you've had experience with the other substances before you encounter the spice.
For her this opportunity came into being without having to get in to other stuff. For others this opportunity comes in to being after getting into other psychedelics first. We're on different paths, and just because many DMT users have had more "experience" before they eventually got this "far" doesn't mean it accounts for everyone else.
Friends of mine have turned people on with DMT with no prior experience with any other drug, nor an interest in doing so. They have just genuinly been interested in getting a solid out of body experience, and this is what they've got through their encounters. If your lovely friend is sure on her intent, and totally comfortable with making this decision I'd say this is by far good enough.
Give her guidance, give her love, give her understanding and provide comfort, humor and support if and when she decides to do this. Much luck to you!

i think it would be ok. maybe start with a low/medium dose though. or if she's brave, go for space. the thing that i think is more manageable about dmt vs mush or acid is that its not as emotionally drawn out and long lasting. it can be something that someone tests the waters with on a small dose. i went for it my first time and then worked from small back to large after, just to get used to all the levels. it can be very mellow and relaxing.

I think it's good for first timers. DMT was my first psychedelic and it was an awesome ride, loved it. I think the short duration is what makes it really nice. I feel like I can use DMT to learn how to control myself under a trip. Later on I plan to take a MAOI and go for the real deal. If I had tried salvia first however, I probably would have freaked out and never touched it again. Can't say for sure, but DMT definitely seems gentle compared with most psychedelics (so I've read). Plus it's not too complicated to extract your own which is a definite plus. We're the new hippies, we get high on life, not drugs. We thrive in drama, and bathe in activeness. Fashion is a religion and vocabulary defines you.

Yes it is. A couple of reasons: -The experience is short -You can make it longer with syrian rue -You can somehow control the intensity from mild visuals to otherworldly experiences -It seems to be friendly -The experience is short

I think DMT is a good first psychedlic...personally I have a soft spot for shrooms as initiators, but spice works well too. Last year, I dosed someone the evening before his first experience with mushrooms. He had never tried any other psychedelic, but he and I had talked many times and he was clearly prepared for what was to come. On 40mg, vaporized through a bulb pipe he had a truly beautiful experience. No stress, no duress, a full breakthrough that was later described through wide eyes and a shocked mouth. From what I remember, he said the intensity was a really nice preparation for the longer duration of the mushrooms, as he saw he went farther and deeper in a few moments than he did his whole mushroom experience, thereby removing some of his come-up anxiety on the shrooms.
