I know this is not the right forum for this type of medical discussion, but I just thought I’d share something with others here who might have some Datura sitting around.

SWIM is sick with a bad cold and he usually gets a tad bit dizzy when he’s sick, but this time he’s getting full on vertigo, especially when he gets up out of bed. The whole room spins, and he loses balance and gets nauseated. He has to close his eyes in order to get up without stumbling from the dizziness. It’s a real pain in the ass.

Anyway, SWIM recalled that he had some Datura inoxia sitting around and decided to use 50 mg of seeds (5 seeds) to help stop the vertigo.

This was the first time he tried using Datura inoxia for vertigo. If you don’t know, the main alkaloid in Datura inoxia seeds is scopolamine and this has been used to treat some symptoms of vertigo (mainly the nausea). About 5 seeds contain approximately 250 micrograms of scopolamine. That’s a little below the normal dose used for motion sickness, but SWIM found it to be very effective.

Now SWIM still sees things spinning when he gets up, but he doesn’t get sick or disoriented from it. The Datura inoxia seeds are very effectively blocking the nausea without introducing any other noticeable effects. SWIM feels great. He can sleep, get up, see things spin and just ignore the spinning. It makes the spinning effect seem unimportant. Whereas prior to taking the Datura inoxia, the spinning would make SWIM feel dizzy and nauseated, and he’d really have a hard time standing from it. Now, he just sees the spinning, and just ignores it. He’s able to easily get up and do things. No nausea, and no dizzy feeling.

It’s strange how the spinning is still there but the nausea and dizziness are gone.

That's great!

I once had something like that two. I was feeling sick but went to work anyway, and then i fel from an escalator.

Good to always have some of those seeds laying around.

That reminds me of the second time SWIM took LSD. He took it during high school. He nearly fell down the stairs walking from one class to the next. His balance was completely gone. He was tripping a little too hard to focus on what he was doing. He had to concentrate and move each foot one at a time. It was really hard walking down the stairs. It was like being a toddler all over again. Each step was a whole bunch of complex calculated movements. He could not just do it without thinking about it. It was as if he suddenly forgot how to use the stairs and had to learn all over again.

When he finally made it to his next class, his teacher looked like a pig. Not a real pig, but the features of her face were morphing and she looked like a half pig, half human creature. While trying to do work in class, reading was very hard. The letters were swaying all over the book like water in a river. They were sliding around and making patterns and reading the moving letters was nearly impossible. He didn’t get much work done that day. Every task required complete concentration. The other teens in the class seemed like wild children. SWIM felt like he was in daycare. How animalistic the other teens looked was amazing.

Sorry to get off topic like that. That escalator fall sounds dangerous, and just reminded me of how dangerous the stairs can be. People take it for granted. All it takes is a little dizziness, and you could fall and get into a very serious accident just walking down the stairs, and an escalator can be even worse.

Fortunately i had the reflex to relax my body, but to cover my head.

That acid story reminded me of the time i took acid at school. At one of the lessons i realy had to put a lot of effort in not to laugh because the teachers eyebrows suddenly where looking hilarious. She had accentueted them with an eyeliner and i suddenly saw it, as if she had made them frown extra to look more like a strict teacher.
I also blew a test where is was asked to make a graph of something and i completely lost myself in drawing awesome doodles halfway, that where spun out of the graph lines.Laughing
