Hi.

Should I tell you that I'm so unsure of myself in the context of new communities that it has been several hours since I opened this post, gave it a totally-not-pretentious title, and decided to write 'Hi'.

There, now we have an actual sentence. What a challenge. Moving on.

My presence here was probably a long time coming, bound to happen. It's been a decade since any of my very limited experience with spice. I've always believed it when I said that psychedelics are tools; I don't know that I've ever intentionally used them as a tool. I do know that I'd like for that to change.

I've spent the last several years flitting from one interest to the next. Many before that seeking escape through narcotics and other unproductive pursuits. I'm grateful to have come out of that breathing. There were certainly enough opportunities for me not to. Much of that, I believe, was self-medication. I have a long history of and continue to struggle with depression. I am on the autism spectrum and nearly asocial. My upbringing provided me with many unresolved and negative emotions that are probably too intimate for an introductory post. The healing process has been glacial.

I have always gravitated toward altered states. As such, it is unsurprising that I find myself here. There are unexplored perspectives, missed connections, and deeper looks at myself that I think are the necessary next-steps for me. Nothing that I'm going to find while I isolate and repeat the same patterns day after day.

So, I think this is me trying to reach out. I can be awfully cryptic and verbose in my writing. Hopefully what I'm trying to say is decipherable. It's hard for me to tell sometimes.

The essence of this post is that I'm intent on a journey of self-exploration leveraged by psychedelics and that I think being a part of this forum will be good for me.

Thanks for reading.

Welcome to the Nexus!

You are not alone in what you describe. Many other members here have share various aspects of the experiences you describe. Have a good look through the forum and you'll find there's an enormous amount of valuable information shared here.

The chat is also a great way of connecting with sympathetic minds. Whether through the forum or the chat, we'll do our best to help you feel at ease with sharing more of your ideas and experiences. IME, the Nexus has been a great asset in a path of self-development.

Your writing is clear and articulate, I hope we will all enjoy your further contributions!

“There is a way of manipulating matter and energy so as to produce what modern scientists call 'a field of force'. The field acts on the observer and puts him in a privileged position vis-à-vis the universe. From this position he has access to the realities which are ordinarily hidden from us by time and space, matter and energy. This is what we call the Great Work."

Hi weary,

Glad to have you on board. Contrary to what you believe, I think your writing and articulation are excellent. I really enjoyed the way you work with the language.

I'm certain you will find many, many like-minded people that have gone through the same, or very similar, trials and tribulations in life. The Nexus has played a pivotal role in the transformation of many people, myself included.

I've found an internet family here. People are open-minded and kind-hearted. They always help out if they can. And the gigantic amount of information that is contained herein will be more than enough to keep your mind occupied.

Looking forward to your participation in the chat and various threads. Enjoy yourself, and if you need to talk to someone, just ask.

We're all on this wild ride together. Let's make it one to remember in subsequent incarnations. Thumbs up

Hello! I am also new to the Nexus, and to spice, but not so much psychedelics as they have been in my life in some way here and there for nearly 25 years now, and I agree with your statement about not necessarily using them as "a tool" this entire time. Of course most experiment at younger ages but it wasn't until the last year or so when I consumed some great magic mushies that I really felt something more, then my first taste of my own spice extraction really opened the door! I account this to the last few years of my existence where I've chosen to detach myself from the garbage we are force-fed on a daily basis and this matrix we exist in. Many great things to be unlocked! Enjoy your journey to the fullest!

I appreciate you all being so welcoming. My plant matter arrived yesterday, first extraction is underway. It's hard to be patient but I have some time before I have NPS or NaOH in hand anyway. I think I've done enough reading to have a rudimentary understanding of the process and am adapting some of the steps from the Cyb's MAX Ion Tek into their Hybrid ATB 'Salt' Tek, starting with just over 50g of bark.

Much of what you mention, Nydex and downwardsfromzero, is what convinced me to join up. Going through many threads and seeing the environment and the people I'd be interacting with. It's a great thing that life has a way of planting seeds. I don't doubt that I'm in the right place at the right time.

What method did you perform for your first extraction?

WELCOME!!! Your around like minded people!!! I had my past with narcotics as well that came very close to completely destroying me! got away from everything (well except the "legal substitution" for 9.5 years) only in the last 6 months did my journey bring me back to psychedelics. And happy it did made me realize that "legal substitution" wasn't serving me any more and on my way out of that. Point is mistakes and wrong choices happen its part of life!!! I find psychedelics have a way of suggesting what is right and maybe even forcing what is right! Anyway welcome you will find friends here!!
