that is pretty slick. Do you think the paper towel will let enough air thru to avoid a vacuum? All posts written by Madcap should be regarded as fiction.

yea, you can control that by pressing on the stem and the paper will open up a little for air intake.

I'd be worried about the jar getting too hot. Maybe wrap some hemp around the mouth to make it easier to hang on to?

The more I think about this, the better it looks. However, you are still going to run into the bulb problem of the dmt running away from the heat. Maybe stuff some cleaned steel wool into the jar like in the machine. I think you could apply this principle to any glass bottle with a neck big enough to accommodate the one hitter. Good work! Seeing this got me thinking about a piece that might just work. It is made to be a paperless joint. add the steel wool maybe? I think the smoke would be way to hot though. have you ever taken that ferry from San Francisco to Berkeley and looked back and seen that while in Berkeley, San Francisco doesn't exist?

looks awesome man. Very cool.
I decided to get a piece of aluminum foil and fold it around like the paper, but not all the way around. that way there's a carb on the top. what does the scrubber do in the machine?

It is hollow all the way through. The scrubber you are talking about is the mouthpiece as you can see here. have you ever taken that ferry from San Francisco to Berkeley and looked back and seen that while in Berkeley, San Francisco doesn't exist?

Does anybody think this will work with a little copper mesh in it? Sorry I didnt mean to Hijack the thread Jurema. It just look so similar to your piece there. have you ever taken that ferry from San Francisco to Berkeley and looked back and seen that while in Berkeley, San Francisco doesn't exist?

nah man, i was just throwing an idea out there. I didn't know the purpose of the wire mesh in the machine. I thought it was for holding in the vapor so it wont escape through the carb. So the spice melts into the wire mesh?
did you get to try your pipe out.

Just a note... my vaporgenie came with steel screens and there was a note not to use copper because it doesn't stand up to heat as well and could release toxic vapors. But to clarify, the steel wool gives the spice a place to go when it runs from the heat. Because all the little strands just run into each other.... it is very effective at keeping your goods in one place so you can get the heat to them. nodice wrote:Does anybody think this will work with a little copper mesh in it? SWIM was thinking it looked perfect for conversion to a machine, and with a stem without a mouthpiece, would probably work well with a bubbler, especially if the stem were slightly bent. SWIM would be interested to know the details behind this. He's never heard this, but if it's backed up by some evidence, SWIM will switch to stainless steel.

Well Swim tried this little bad boy out with a little mesh and it worked like a charm. His only complaint is that he lost all faculties after the first gigantic hit and couldn't manage to keep the flame on it to get a second. Swim had an amazing tear jerker of a ride on one huge hit. I think swim found his new baby. have you ever taken that ferry from San Francisco to Berkeley and looked back and seen that while in Berkeley, San Francisco doesn't exist?

Hey, Jurema, SWIM would imagine heating that glass to vaporize will be a pain, even with metal mesh stuffed in there (the metal should be exposed to the naked flame for "the machine" ). If SWIY had a tube that the piece could fit into (similar to nodice's), rather than an enclosed vial, it would make a decent machine.

you should just be able to use a glass tube, if you have one handy, with a wad of scrubber in the end...think crackpipe but like 5-6 inches long.
I think the vials would bust when they get heated and cooled a few times, maybe try a test tube if you can get one.
Looks good though, I was trying to do the same thing with a glass tube and a test tube setup just like this but couldnt figure out how to keep them together and let air through...now I feel dumb, paper towel lol

SWIM wouldn't recommend this without some smaller tube to inhale through, as SWIY would inhaling the plug or some hot oil. There needs to be some kind of barrier to prevent this. Even the piece that SWIY's currently using as a mouthpiece would probably work with a mesh plug in the end, as it appears to have a sufficient barrier.

I dont think it would be an issue...the pipe would be long enough that you wouldn't have enough oil to make it all the way up even if you sucked as hard as you could, with the pipe I had in mind. Same thing goes for the wad, you shouldn't be packing it tight enough to make a vaccuum...that and you shouldn't be sucking that hard either so when/if the plug started to move(maybe it clogged up) you would know and could stop hitting it and fix it. I was thinking like 5-6 inches of plain glass tubing, you could put the wad in tilt it up to load it, quickly melt in the spice and then tilt it down to like 45 degrees. You dont have to do it, I was just mentioning it
