This question has been asked time and again, and the answer is still the same - NO. (And I don't mean "use nitric oxide" either.) “There is a way of manipulating matter and energy so as to produce what modern scientists call 'a field of force'. The field acts on the observer and puts him in a privileged position vis-à-vis the universe. From this position he has access to the realities which are ordinarily hidden from us by time and space, matter and energy. This is what we call the Great Work." ― Jacques Bergier, quoting Fulcanelli

not a chance. The covalent forces binding the methoxy to the benzene ring are too strong. substitution and cyclization to a beta-carboline would occur well before the methoxy even budges. I typed "removing methoxy" into the search function and found this: https://www.dmt-nexus.me...&m=903738#post903738 “There is a way of manipulating matter and energy so as to produce what modern scientists call 'a field of force'. lol yup you might as well demethylate, convert to triflate, then instead of hydrogenolysis with palladium, just do some transition metal coupling chemistry and stick on a trifluoromethylthio (-SCF3) group instead. You run into just as much effort and difficultly converting into that as converting it into -H , believe me. haha. And then at least you'd have a novel DMT molecule on your hands The better starting point is 5-Br-DMT Expect nothing, Receive everything. I wonder why bother. 5-MeO-DMT is much more scarce than NN-DMT Do not seek the truth, just drop your opinions.

...especially since it's much easier to go from tryptamine to NN than from 5-MeO to NN.

I don't see why either. And I do'nt have the answer. I mean you could dislike 5 meo and like n,n and want to change your 5 M into n,n... But 5 meo is very thought after, you could prolly make someone happy with giving it away / trading. Thing to try is rather go from Mexamine to 5 MeO. Smell like tea n,n spirit !
