Avatar 3D.

3 Hours of pure entheogenic, tribal bliss. Displayed in wonderful, fully immersive 3D full-colour technology.
This was the first time I'd been privvy to 3D technology, which works using two channels of differently polarised light
The company is called Real D 3D, and instead of red and blue lenses, they use +/- lenses, which has the advantage
of allowing full colour.

Anyone else want to rant about how amanzing that film was? Very happy

definately spend the extra, get the glasses and watch the 3D version. Its SO worth it. Id never seen a film in 3D as I said,
and it was like magic. It was the feeling I get from exploring DMT realms, just like... utter joy and curiosity mixed into one:
huh? Whats that!! LOL!! ~as he fingers the psychedelic fronds~

Obviously if everyone is hyping it up, please try not to expect too much. It is a good film, but it is also three hours long and
the plot will not surprise you at all. A -> B. fin.

Can you watch it with the glasses on any screen? Where do you get the glasses? I was too drunk to figure this out when I went to the theatre.

I'd see it again in 3D

I'm definitely on the Avatar bandwagon. I thought it was great
and made for a wonderful visual experience. I saw it in IMAX 3D
with the girlfriend and digital 3D with my parents.

DEFINITELY shell out the extra cash to see this one in 3D. Otherwise,
you're not really getting anything close to the full movie experience.
you will not regret it.

Haven't seen Avatar yet but already have tickets for tomorrow.
But I've seen a movie with this Real-D and it's cool.

Seeing the trailer for Avatar really put me off and I wasn't going to see it but then I've heard a lot of people say it's cool so I changed my mind.

All they really did was rehash a piece of history that everyone is familiar with and played it back in the setting of space aliens and futuristic weapons.

The depth of plot and character development was kind of disappointing but on the whole I still liked it a lot Smile

Thats what I was saying, a bit dissapointing. Hero meets girl, changes sides, saves the world. Native people evicted from homeland but eventualy triumphant after suffering.

However...... see when he's in the forest for the first time, the 3D really kicks in for the first time, and he touches the plants and they all pop back into their shells!?!? Amazing!

AVATAR is the best movie i have ever seen. No exceptions. It will totally revolutionize the way that films are made.

The level of artistic ability that was used to create the 3D art in this film is second to none. SIMPLY FUCKING AMAZING!!!!!

EVERYONE HERE ON THE NEXUS SHOULD SEE THIS FILM!

(ok so maybe the plot and scriptwriting could have been better... but just to watch and be amazed at the digital art it is definitely worth the experience)

btw I saw it on a nice dose of acid which definitely enhanced the experience Pleased

Would be a good idea for a ILPT`s PARROT to eat some mescaline beforhand and go watch Avatar 3D when experience peaking?
He watched 2010(which wasn`t 3D) on some mescal and it was trully amazing (expolosions etc.)
As a kemist I never met ILPT in physical form and never talk to him. He share his wisdom, trough my mind, telepathicly only. Please don`t prosecute me, for his possible illegal activities. He is bonkers about chemistry and doesn`t even exist in this primitive reality !!!

I agree with w0mbat that it was many old stories of re-hashed history (NOT just the story of the native Americans however). The plot also touched on many other impacts of "civilized man" on indigenous people and species around the globe. Not just from the history books, but also current events! Not only that, but it strongly eluded to the war on the Middle East. I almost felt like they tried to touch on too many of these cultural tragedies / moral dilemmas for one movie. I would also agree that the story line was not mind-blowing... But the direction and complexity of the movie was fantastic!

The amazing value of the movie in my mind is...
Such a beautiful, interdependent ecology that they lived in. The binding between all different species of life was incredible. The message (although an old one) was profound in it's delivery. All energy is interconnected. (something I think most of know at an advanced level)

The special effects were like nothing I've experienced outside of a triptamine journey. The concept was very DMTesq, while the visuals were a combination of heavy psilo and DMT.

I found it to be a very worth while movie for this decade. Hi-Def 3D is the ONLY way to see it however! Don't bother seeing it in a non 3D cinema.

kemist - Yes, I got 2 minutes into the movies and realized I had not prepared properly!! Embarrased
I'm going back to see it on a head full of psilo I do believe! Smile Alice in Wonderland in 3D will be hands down PARROT style! Pleased

Peace!

As others have said the story is predictable and kind of ho-hum.

However this movie is by far the most entertaining movie EVER to see in a theater. The visual effects are breathtaking, absolutely breathtaking. The way the CG characters faces express emotion is uncanny, you can really empathize with the characters on a level that has never been possible before with CG animation.

The world of Pandora is stunning as well. They do a great job of putting things in the foreground and background all on different planes of focus to create a real sense of being in the movie, you really have to see it to believe it.

I'm usually very cynical about movies, especially adventure type movies as they are kind of cheesy most of the time. However Avatar completely surpassed all my expectations of what a movie can be. I've seen it twice, one time in IMAX. I would say definitely go see it in IMAX, or at least in 3D. This movie has universal appeal.
Greatest monologue of all time.

great movie, story line was very very cliche. the whole consciousness being transferred and the falling through a tunnel reminded me of DMT =]

after seeing this movie THREE times now, i can say with certainty the following three things:

1. as "an experience", there is no movie that can touch avatar.

2. in terms of thoroughness and detail regarding the creation of another world and another civilization....nothing can touch avatar.

3. if it were in any way possible, i would have a torrid affair with Na'tiri. her blue skin....her perfect physique....her ponytail-octopus-thing.... i'm in alien love...
