I made ayahuasca analogue with Syrian rue and a few days later, decanted the liquid and filtered and now it is clear of sediment (but the tea is still opaque). It got me thinking about fridge decanting rue (well, siphoning then decanting and filtering the last bit of remaining liquid).
This got me to wondering:
Is it okay to do a syrian rue extraction 3x with water/vinegar, roughly filtering this solution with a cloth or something, then fridge siphoning/decanting once or twice to remove sediment, and THEN heating the solution and saturating with salt? I don't see an issue with this presuming harmala crystals don't precipitate out in the absence of salt. I just think it would amount to easier cleanup for subsequent purification steps (one more Manske and an acid/base prep).
Time really isn't an issue to me, I'll be prepping DMT A/B style and that should take me a few days anyway. Intending to do some pharmahuasca.
Thanks,

yes thats definitely the way I go, after making the tea, first decant, filter plenty of times in gradually thinner filters, and then saturate with salt... it does help later on, but you will have to redo the manske and/or basing step a few times filtering plenty each time its dissolved, before it becomes really clean and nice to work with

Thanks guys. Ideally I should be able to run this and the DMT extraction in fairly precise parallels so that they're finished roughly the same day. Day 1 tea making/filtration, day 2 filtration/reduction/defat/basify/pull for DMT, filtration/salting for harmalas, day 3 filter DMT and re-freeze and re-Manske harmalas Jungle Spice prep?, day 4 filter DMT/recrystallize, and A/B harmalas, day 5 dry/measure DMT and harmalas and make DMT enhanced herb? So I guess I know what I'll be doing Dec. 26 until New Years! Nothing like a good introspective trip to jump start New Years Resolutions Plus I really do enjoy extractions, so I'll be happy doing that. Especially this time as I'll be teaching the whole way through.
