So i bought a package from my local super market that said sodium carbonate
After compliting everything according to BLAB recipe there was no clouding happening in the jar after mixing my fumarate and what i thought to be sodium carbonate saturated solution
It has been sitting in my fridge now for at least 10 days and there is only one small chunk that i would describe as crystals and it is on the top of the water line
So bottom line i think the sodium carbonate was sodium bicaronate how do i save my jim jam
Thank you in advance !

I think you'll just have to add a stronger base. Eg. lye or ammonia.

Btw you can convert bicarb to carb by baking it in the oven for about an hour. Not sure about the temp, i think 150C - 200C should be good.

Microwaving it for a few seconds several times also works, as does toasting it in a stainless steel pan until it stops "levitating".

“There is a way of manipulating matter and energy so as to produce what modern scientists call 'a field of force'. The field acts on the observer and puts him in a privileged position vis-à-vis the universe. From this position he has access to the realities which are ordinarily hidden from us by time and space, matter and energy. This is what we call the Great Work."

So would you happen to have any idea how much lye is needed to fix this fuck up ?
Thank you so much for my amateur questions this is my first project

Tbh i always just go by visual clues (clouding /color change), or sometimes measure pH. I don't weigh the lye. It won't take much to push it over that pH you didn't quite reach, if that is indeed your problem. A few teaspoons maybe, assuming an extraction volume in the ballpark of 0.5 liters.

Be careful when mixing lye, add small increments at a time and stir constantly - make sure the solution isn't heating up to the point of boiling. Ventilate well, avoid the fumes, wear protection.

So, if the carbonate turns out not to be the problem then it would be time to start troubleshooting the preceding parts of the extraction.
