Hmm, okay. Have you experimented with flicker-induced halluconations on yourself? I have been fascinated with it since being a child and have used many techniques, naturally occuring and artificial to self-generate powerful geometric hallucinations. I can't really speak to the physiological causes for the phenomenon, but it is indeed effective.
Having experienced both DMT and flicker-induced hallucinations fairly extensive I don't think they really have much to do with one another. Flicker hallucinations seem to be centered in the visual cortex whereas DMT visions emerge from something else entirely. I'm not even sure it is in my own brain, and kinda lean to DMT visuals as being generated more
through my brain than
by my brain and come from... uh, something else I'm not even going to try to get into right now.
The fact that people seem to have very similar DMT visuals- which are for me not just visuals but actually full-sensory and extra-sensory sensations, seems to me to either point
toward materialism, if these strange and spiritual experiences are stimulated by measurable physiological processes set in motion by ingestion of the drug that each individual undergoes as a direct consequence, or toward non-materialism, if they are, through those same neurochemical cascades creating the necessary neural ground to communicate with a consciousness not bound to the material consequences of 3-dimensional nature. I obviously have a slanted perspective and my own deeply held ideas around it.
Flicker hallucinations also have a universal aspect in their quality, but I think this is more physical in nature, but I have never been able to do it long enough to achieve any sensation of transcendance as many have described with the technique. It is all really interesting, and I wonder how these two different visual hallucination engines work as opposed or in relation to one another.
For me, combining the two would be overly complicated and would likely be overwhelming, but may be not. I am just not one to be able to maintain consideration for anything I was trying to do once DMT happens. I can't even operate a lighter, but maybe if you have assistance it would not be a problem for you to operate the equipment while getting high.. I honestly prefer as few distractions and as close to silence as I can get when I smoke DMT.
That said, this is all very interesting and I do not mean to dissuade you, any data you produce if you proceed would be great to check out and could be valuable for researchers on DMT, visuals and consciousness.
