My hair is getting kind of long. Down past my shoulders long. I am considering a mullet. Does anyone here have one? What do you like about it? How do you wear yours?

I've had one in the past a bunch of times, mostly from being too lazy to get to the barbers'. The mullet is unfairly criticised as a style in my humble opinion. The efficiencies of the profile really only become apparent beyond mach 2.

If you don't care how others view you and like the style then sure. The way I see people stereotype this look is somewhat aligned with being delinquent, rough, hillbillysh, rebellious or insubordinate, lacking depth of forethought or reflection etc. and from what I see online and on tv shows this isnt specific to one region (occurs in america, australia, etc).

That being said, there are plenty of times where people like to embody particular fashion statements or trends who's stereotype don't reflect the their character at all. In this scenario, what is the cause of that? In my opinion, perhaps another way to entrench our egos within culturally defined artifacts? Maybe, maybe not, i dunno.

I had a mullet back in about 1988 when I worked landscaping. I'd wear it ball cap/rat tail mode and the tail got bleached blonde by the sun. I was so proud. Very happy

You did have a mullet licence... as I did, the licence being that it was in the actual 1980s.

Let me say it this way - I would rather have McGyver's skills than haircut.

Your hair is your business, but I would suggest you see a barber.

I've decided against the mullet or any other haircut for that matter. No barber for this guy. I will let it grow.

I thought that one of the benefits of the mullet was that there is no need for a barber. It is a DIY haircut. Cut the top with scissors or clippers. Leave the rest. Jobs a good 'un. Here is a picture of me when i was younger sporting a mullet and for some reason i appear to be wearing one of my sister's frocks.....
