Altering the colour of harmalas under black light [chemistry related, likely not edible] Options

I am trying to learn more about the properties of harmalas, specificly about its glow in the dark effect under a black light and altering its colours.

i know that using zinc you can alter a harmala extract, various guides about it on here, and under a black light the colour does change after exposure to the zinc.

what i am curious about is if anyone has attempted to chemically alter harmalas specifically for their colour properties, irrespective of if the resulting is edible.

has anyone attempted to alter harmalas in order to get either a red or a cyan/blue hue?

and if so, where could i begin learning about how to replicate the process?

thank you
