Hello Stop , I'm about to start to Norman´s tek but I have not a freezer but a fridge* (think the max cold is -2 degrees)

Is this temperature okay to precipitate the spice?

Thank you

No. You would lose spice.
Acceptance of the fact that our reality is not real doesn't in fact mean it is not real. It just leads to better understanding what real means.

Siru, you can actually crystallize the alkaloids in solvent at any temperature up to room temp--IF you evaporate off the solvent enough-- the only reason you really *have* to freeze is if you're in a rush-- but it's better in my opinion to evap off at least half of your pull solvent (let it sit open in your garage or somewhere you're not breathing the fumes and don't air-blast it with a fan too much, it makes for smaller crystals if you evap too fast) and then either place what's remaining in the fridge or even better, in a still, undisturbed place that it can just evap off completely over a day or three-- you'll get much larger, glass-like crystals this way, and while you will likely still have an oily residue as well, there's nothing keeping you from collecting the crystals that form after a few days and adding new *hot* solvent to the container to re-absorb the alks from the residue and then fridge it again to form crystal from what remains.

The oily residue is still good usable spice in a different form, assuming you "completely" separated the solvent from the based bark liquid in your container. Just scrub the oily coating off with the herb of your choice (damiana, mullein, mugwort, or whatever you like best) Smile

If you happen to decide that evaporating large amounts of hydrocarbon solvents is not something you'd rather avoid, there are numerous workarounds for those who only have access to a refrigerator instead of a decent freezer.

One approach would be to use minimal recoverable amounts of warm naphtha on warm base soup, followed by slow cooling in the fridge to see if anything precipitates. After syphoning the naphtha into a fresh container away from any crystals that may have formed, any remaining alkaloid in the naphtha can be extracted into dilute acetic acid (white vinegar).

After evaporating the vinegar down to what is - hopefully - a gummy DMT acetate residue, this can be mixed into a paste with sodium carbonate and a drop or two of water, allowed to dry out once more, and pulled with acetone or isopropanol. On evaporating the solvent you will be left with gooey freebase DMT.

Or, you could simply wait until you have access to a freezer. The typical living situation for people without freezers (I'm thinking communal dorm-room or similar) is not necessarily conducive to safe extracting and experiential experimentation.

Take care.

“There is a way of manipulating matter and energy so as to produce what modern scientists call 'a field of force'. The field acts on the observer and puts him in a privileged position vis-à-vis the universe. From this position he has access to the realities which are ordinarily hidden from us by time and space, matter and energy. This is what we call the Great Work."
