I kind of get what you mean, I rather enjoy the process of pounding out & breaking down B.Caapi vine into it's thin fibers by hand myself, when preparing Ayahuasca.
But powdering Mimosa bark is just a pain in my ass!

Using more liquids, better mixing & making sure that it stays warm throughout the process,
should cure that right up.
Whether you started with whole or pre-powdered bark shouldn't make any difference here, as you are going to powder your whole bark for the extraction anyway.
TIP: You want the bark solution to be a freely flowing liquid, not a mud or thick in any way.
If the entire solution is not a liquid pretty much the consistency of water, the DMT can not move as freely within the solution & your yield will more than likely suffer, as some of the DMT molecules stay trapped in the
plant-matter-mud, instead of fully migrating into the acidic water.
When finished soaking, you need to filter the solids out of the liquid really well too, for that same reason.
I use a
Buchner Funnel setup to vacuum filter the liquids out of the solution. It fully separates the liquids from the solids & I know for sure that I've got all the DMT out of the bark powder because it is returned to 98% dry once the filtering is finished!
I prefer to use an A/B tek (
Vovin's tek), as I prefer very pure DMT over anything yellowish or jungle spice, the effects are so much clearer & focused.
I'll usually extract around 100-120g of MHRB when I do it & I'll do three acidic water soaks, using around 300-400ml of warm water for each, with a pH around 2.5-to-3.
So once the Acid soak step is all finished, I have around 900-1000ml of purple, acidic/DMT-water.
Which is filtered
very well & then reduced down to around 300-500ml.
(
in the oven at 130-150F degrees for around 4-6 hours...tedious, but worth it! check the pic! ...yes that's my DMT)
Before doing a defat & then basifying, pulling with Naptha & freeze precipitating.
Hope I didn't go on too long there...
Cheers!
