I did another datura leaf extract with 10grams. This is what I got. I used iso 99% and let it set for three days Pourded the alcohol off and dried it. I now have pure alkaloids. Nocturne attached the following image(s): IMG_20190228_094052.jpg (444kb) downloaded 140 time(s).

Datura is extremely dangerous and not recommended to be used to alter the mind. This thread is a good reference on the topic. What are you planning to do with this extract?

why mess with datura ?
that stuff can stop your heart from beating!
used by witches in ancient days.. is very visual... but not an enjoyable experiance!
I know because ive tryed belladonna many years ago ...
There are many other much safer alternatives...

I dont think that soaking in ISO can yeild pure alkaloids, this is just a crude extract. You should be very carefull with dosing.

I know its not the purest extract but it works. I know that I could pureify it more but I like It this way. I have used datura for many years. And yes i do know what i am doing.

Here is it on the scales. Nocturne attached the following image(s): IMG_20190228_154105.jpg (393kb) downloaded 124 time(s).

what would be your method for purifying? I would say you could simply dissolve it in water, separate the water from solids, and evaporate it.
but I understand that it is not really needed, datura is very strong, so you do not need lot of material.

I don't know how to separate the alkaloids Doubledog. You would probably Need to know a bit about Further chemistry. I don't think its simple To separate them all.

That's nice, i guess. What are you doing with this foryears? What is your experience that you would be so partial to it? Sine experientia nihil sufficienter sciri potest -Roger Bacon *γνῶθι σεαυτόν*

of course, fine separation of alkaloids is definitelly not that simple, I meant only some easy additional purifying step.

And yes i do know what i am doing. you know its not the purest extract but say in the OP you know have pure alcaloids ? ok you're abit confused, or maybe a bit too fast. Yeh you got crude extract which anyway is already strong enough to screw someone up. I use it too. and I do'nt look at "pure alcaloid isolation of datura or brugmansia " anyaway. Alright. I did write pure alkaloids which I know Was wrong. But what I meant was the alkaloids From the leaf material.

Does anyone know how to purify It further? without knowing chemistry.
|
|

No, and purifying it further for what ? Well maybe yes we could mesure accurately X mg of it and know what we doing precisely, however, it could be also easy to overdose on that kind of isolate... Smell like tea n,n spirit !

Alright r0m. Didnt mean to sound like an amateur With my earlier posts. I have been using it For 14 years and i have put alot of effort into Growing and caring for this plant. Peace and sorry if i sounded a bit new or Confused.

Do you use microdose or full dose?
|

Nocturne, I think to further purify your alkaloids you're going to have to perform some kind of pH dependent extraction - Straight to base is probably easiest. I doubt you could seperate the alkaloids in the state they're in now. I can only think of chromatography for seperating the alkaloids, but I suggest you do your own research into the best type of chromatography for your situation (it's not as hard as it sounds, just an extra step from what you've already done). I'm not really sure what you're planning on doing with this extract, but measure everything carefully, and don't eyeball your dosage Stay safe!

I take a very small amount at a time. Maybe 50mg or less. And thank you fattycomrade1. I will Look into it.

Nocturne, I tend to reply to all possible readers too. It's not just the few of us participating on this thread, but you can easily have hundreds if not thousands of readers of this thread, and you'll probably agree that this one is a tricky one which had a vertiginous number of accident linked directly to its "use" or "misuse". So it's not just about you but all those who might think, they have datura growing nearby and might try an extract to see what's up with this plant... am sure you understand we can't portray it as a "safe psychoactive herb" but rather, beside microdosing it like we do, a rather traumatizing experience generally.
