So there's this guy, pretty well aged, in a wheel chair, probably on all sorts of meds, says he wants to experience DMT. He said he'll be fine but I don't want something to happen to you guy. One thing he asked was can it give him seizures? He said him and his friend used to go by the Acid brothers back in the 80s, so he's seasoned in psychedelic use. What's your thoughts, or is there any studies done that say he shouldn't risk it?? Life I so boring when one is forced to abide by the rules. We fear breaking the rules. Let's play pretend. A whole universe where we can do anything which interests us. I am a poorly trained, chemistry inclined and severely drug addicted dolphin. I only exist as a cyber-tulpa and I do have a few 'super powers'... So yeah... Hmu we'll party.

Hi
the guy is lucky to have a thoughtful friend in you.
Get him to join the nexus and do a little research or even just lurk and learn! He can consent to using chemicals as an adult. And informed consent is even better.
Age, disability should not be considerations. Plenty of psychedelic experience will have helped prepare him.
I have read here and heard in conversation how DMT helps some cope with pain, physical limitations and provide some sort of relief apart from it's other effects and insights.
These are just immediate musings and not considered thoughts I provide no evidence. I first used DMT in my forties during a serious illness and it was part of the start of real recovery but everyone is different.
His decisions are his. If he wants it he will get it. Where I am (Belfast) DMT is a widely used drug of misuse amongst the community of poly drug users I know. It can be bought on the street corner and darknet.
He clearly wisely wants advice/information so point him to the Nexus and decide himself.

I say be a little bit selfish on this one and dont give it to him. Sounds like trouble and unecesary worrying. Make your life easier and dont get entangled. If anything just tell em how easy it is to make it. If he really cared he could make it himself. If he lacks the health to make it himself...dmt prob isnt for him for it takes energy, health, these livley things. Btw, why is the title Old Head? Too many variables to give any advice on this. He is on meds.. what meds? Does he have a heart condition? Is he physically capable to even light the DMT pipe? Is he mentally ok? If he is already prone to seizures, it is quite possible he could experience a seizure while taking DMT. He should go and talk to a doctor about it. I think it is perfectly reasonable to be able to ask these questions to your doctor even if DMT is considered an illicit drug. If the doctor gives to go ahead then you can feel much better about aiding him in any way that you see fit. There was a thread some time ago that a member's aged mother smoked DMT, and had a hemorrhagic stroke from elevated blood pressure. Can't find it right now, but maybe someone will link it I'm not sure if DMT by itself, biologically results in a raised pulse rate or blood pressure, but it can definitely result in emotional and mental states that would then in turn result in that. After recovering her ability to speak, this lady said that she felt trapped in her body, unable to move, and panicked... And it's possibly that feeling of panic that resulted in a jump in blood pressure, and thus the stroke. Do you believe in the THIRD SUMMER OF LOVE?

Thank you all, I will talk to him about these things. I did just think about the fact that he does still do other illicit street drugs ATM, just not psychedelics anymore. Do it's likely he will be fine. Life I so boring when one is forced to abide by the rules. We fear breaking the rules. Let's play pretend. I'm gonna respond to a few things here. First, depending on yhe drugs he's on, whether it be pharmaceutical or street could have undesirable effects combined with dmt. I have a seen drunks smoke dmt, and I always advise against it, seems from my point of view only 1/3 of drunk dmt trips are "good". Higher rate of vomitting for sure. Benzos, seem to not allow you you remember your trip. That's all I've got for that cause I can't remember. I have seen people do dmt while on opiates/opioids and dont seem to be bothered. I've done dmt with lsd and the only reason I advise against it is because the lsd seemed to make it too hard to focus while on the dmt also. To me it felt like two completely separate trips that i was actually able to differentiate between and didn't seem to potentiate eachother. Being an oldhead I'm sure he's got some idea of what he's in store for, though he has no idea I agree with above, point him to the nexus where he can find out how easily he can extract it. And where he can learn about mixing different drugs up.

Maybe I am an elitist "ageist"...but I highly doubt it It is all fun and games until it isnt anymore...and only then do we become prudent. Then we wish we had been more cautious, had thought about it more. The feeling of happpines and power in life is related more to what you don't do, rather than what you do...what you don't get entangled in. Most of these entanglements are for our own ego, not because we care for the other person. We want to be liked, want to have fun, and we already feel preassured by our own words into commiting to whatever nonsense we speak (even when its just idle chatter.) We are too fast to commit...to causes, to people, to ideas. And that is my point of view Independence from our own "commitments." To be free! Completley! With no fear! To abandon the ways of the world LITERALLY. And its pretty undeniable that if the old man does not have health to make it he does not have health to take it. DMT destroys and obliterates you! Always remember that when giving it to old, frail people. We seem to only remember the good...never the coughing, the skin becoming pale as a ghost, the mind becoming severley confused, the dimension we enter into ripping us apart or hitting us as hard as a wall. I am ageist I suppose, because I have enough common sense to know that young people and old people are not the same (testified in the old saying "Oh, hold up a second for me, I am not as young as I used to be." Ducks are fragile and we must be careful and gentle with them...is saying this animal discrimination? Todo lo que quiero es que me recuerdes siempre así...amándote.
