I have performed this extraction for many years using the same ingredients & quantities, however this has never happened previously...
Added so far (as per): 1kg MHRB 6l water 400g caustic
4 days soaking with periodic mixing/mashing and 6l NAPHTHA added at this point. After a good mix together & heat bath only around 1.5-2l of the fuel will separate. I have repeated this step a few times now with the same result each time.
I read some threads on here then added another 36g caustic in 400ml water but no change.
Any assistance much appreciated. Thanks.

Just based ( ) off your measurments it looks like you need more lye and more water. Try 1 gram of lye per gram of bark and 1,500 ml of water per 100 grams of bark a la dmtnexus wiki’s suggestion.

I suppose this is not commerial extraction. Right? As stated, keep 1:1:15 ratio. Water part 15 is crucial for some barks. If still losing naptha, try to saturate by NaCl before adding non-polar. Acceptance of the fact that our reality is not real doesn't in fact mean it is not real. It just leads to better understanding what real means.

Thanks guys I'll give it a try...

Oh gosh, no. Just saves me messing about very often

You might want to consider smaller extractions that are easier to manage. In a smaller scale, it's easier to troubleshoot. It sounds like you may want to take some time to understand what is actually happening, chemically, in an extraction procedure. It's pH dependent - and there are varying methods which explain what you're trying to achieve. Also... a kilogram should typically yield between 10-20 grams of DMT. Those quantities are not encouraged on the nexus as it increases legal risk. Might be worth reviewing the Nexus Attitude and then searching the wiki for some small scale teks that explain the chemistry. ACY Sometimes it's good for a change. Other times it isn't.

Yes, agreed. I do plan to put some time into familiarising myself much more with the site but if I'm perfectly honest I was a little desperate for help as I had plans for yesterdays moon.
I was shown this method around 8 years ago & not wanting to disrupt something that worked I just stuck with it. I usually just leave it and take bits over time. It seems to last forever
Also I am struggling with taking a pH reading as it just dyes the strip!?
Sorry again if this is something explained in the wiki, I will get there with reading all this...

At what stage/why are you measuring pH? Acceptance of the fact that our reality is not real doesn't in fact mean it is not real. It just leads to better understanding what real means.

Using pH strips or litmus paper may be difficult to get a very accurate reading. It'll give you an approximation, but won't be able to give you the same data that a pH meter with a decent probe can provide. So, when I am not trying to get an accurate reading, I will use litmus paper. I generally tear a small piece of the paper and set it on either a glass cleanable surface, or some kind of disposable surface. Then I'll dip a glass stir rod, or glass pipette into the solution and just put a very small amount on the paper. That way, you can still get an indication of the approximate pH. Sometimes it's good for a change. Other times it isn't.

Off topic, but to the OP. If you look around the site, you'll see not too many posts with colored text. It doesn't make your post trippier, just less readable. On topic: yes, ratios, smaller extractions, pH strips. Sine experientia nihil sufficienter sciri potest -Roger Bacon *γνῶθι σεαυτόν*
