sorry this might be a dumb question but does cold naptha produce that cloudy like substance when blown on it or just really cold or does that mean there is dmt in it also could it be impurities that somehow got carried over like lye or salt i used acrb with a/b extraction

Hi EsizBubbies!
You made A/B on ACRB and your solvent was naptha right?
How much naptha did you use per pull and how many pulls, and did you reduce (evap) your naptha after the pulls prior to freeze percip? Im just asking out of curiousty, and now to your question:

From my knowledge i think cloudy solvent indicates that this solvent is saturated with DMT freebase
and upon cooling, the solvent gets more and more cloudy because your dmt gets less and less soluble in your solvent so it crashes out making your solvent look cloudy. This is what it is probabbly, but there is a chance that because of poor extraction technique and equipment maybe you got some impurities from the aqu. layer into your solvent when pulling (i doubt it). Good Luck Thumbs up

I think a good way to distinguish would be if it’s a milky opaque that it is most likely dmt (assuming you did an evap test) but if it’s brown or has any dark pigment then that would be any sludge you accidentally carried which can easily be cleaned up.

yes it was A/B on ACRB the first 2 goes at it was a learning experience i am using Klean Strip VM&P Naptha tested it it leaves no residue i did 5 50 ml pulls all separate.followed by a mini A/B with 5 more separate 50ml pulls i evap to about half but it didn't get cloudy until after the freeze part but eventually did unfortunately no crystals formed but instead there was this weird white ball things and they disloved really fast i tried dumping my naptha out really fast and immediately put next to a fan they still dissolved though which made me thing it wasn't dmt sorry for the paragraphs but im really lost in this could it be bad bark? im trying it again atm with new bark i got myself (both times) but this stuff looks a lot better more re to it where as the last try was all tan and brown

thanks for your response

I'll also throw this out there

I've never done the mini a/b step so maybe someone else can. Speak to this,

But you're using ACRB? Acacia park is going to contain a fair amount more NMT than Mimosa, and ime nmt doesn't crystalize as nicely, I usually end up with a waxy substance with crystals growing out of it and my xtals disappear into he was upon gathering it all up.

It's a yellowish wax, that turns orange yellow when gathered up.

based what i have read the mini a/b is for that reason to make it more nice white crystals for the end product maybe if you come around acrb again you should try the mini a/b to see if anything changes Thumbs up

I've always been wholy satisfied with out xtals.

Perhaps for future experiments, but honestly it would be more about getting the xtals for show than xtals for any other reason. It's just not my game Razz

Try this: After you got your flask wtih all your solvent pulls reduce them untill the solvent get a bit cloudy and then first put your dish with the solvent in the fridge for few hours and then into the freezer being carefull not to move the solution too much because crystals will be forming and you dont want to disturb them, your crystals are melting fast hm? That might mean that there is too much solvent and that your freezer is not cold enough so once you take your dish with dmt freebase crystals and solvent out it redissolse into your solvent. Try out what i said above, and check your freezer temp its should be around -20C. I recommend slow freeze percip like i said first in fridge for couple hours then freezer with already saturated and reduced solvent, this will leave you with bigger cleaner crystals, maybe consider doing defatting at some point during extraction. After the freeze percip take your solvent out of dish using a pipette or baster while in freezer if possible, and leave your dish in freezer for a few minutes then take it out to evap remaining solvent and then scrape up your freebase. Good Luck Thumbs up
