i got into mycology when i was 16
now at 19 am finally taking it to the next level
here i will share experiments that have been successful

agar medium: 22g ground oats + 15 malt extract + 5g gypsum + 2g ground charcoal/carbon + 2g yeast for 1L final medium (also known as psilocybia's black agar)
bring 2L of tap water (pH at 7) to a boil, add the materials mentioned above ^, boil on medium heat for 30minutes, pass through metal strainer, move solution back to pot, add 30g agar powder and stirr, move to autoclav glass and autoclav at 15psi for 30-45 minutes and pour into dishes in front of your flow hood/ still air box

here is some more
1# pic = gas limited mycelial growth (colombians mono-culture)
#2 pic = mycelium fighting black mold (mycelium stands its ground pretty effectively)
#3 pic = colombian fruit grown hydroponically with liquid nutrients (2L water 37g malt extract powder + 5g gypsum + 4g carbon + 4 nutritional yeast boil until volume is 1L and add to spawn bag or jar filled with polyfil autoclave for 30mins at 15 psi and inoculate)
#4 pic = 4th isolation from fruit of golden teachers, second transfer, one of my strongest genetics
#5 pic = colombians fruiting in an agar jar
#6 pic = mazatapecs multi culture with pretty interesting rhizo activity (sectored and isolated later, pics coming)

i am searching for a new way to think, TH Entity
here are some inspirations and aspirations Wink
posting some of my work here with details, looking for suggestions or experience with experimental or non-conventional grow methods
i've come to categorize my nutrient mixes in 3 inter-related media
1- nutrient water: using reverse osmosis water + malt extract powder 3% + calcium sulfate dehydrate 1% + activated carbon 2%
division #1 - npk 20-20-20 1% + humic/fulvic acid 1% (for fruiting) -> add to a bag of polyfill until semi-soaked, autoclave for 20minutes in 15psi, transfer mycelium and upon full colonization bring to fruiting conditions, when mycelium runs out of nutrient water add more sterile mix

division #2 - agar agar 1.5% (for agar media) -> "after boiling 30g Malt extract powder + 1g calcium sulfate dehydrate + 2g activated carbon in 2L of reverse osmosis water (wait until its reduced in half = 1L) and pouring in a long vessel, wait for it to settle and decant the clear water, bring to a boil and add 15g of agar agar, after dissolution autoclave for 20minutes in 15psi

2- spawn: 250g rye 250g millets + 2.5g large perlite + 2.5g calcium sulfate dehydrate
division #1 - 2.5g npk 20-20-20 + 2.5g humic/fulvic acid 1%
(straight to fruit) -> add reverse osmosis water until spawn bag is almost afloat, close and shake, let it settle for 24hours, shake again and autoclave, after transfer and full colonization bring to fruiting conditions and case

3-bulk: mix 2.1kg one year old ostrich compost + 6g calcium sulfate dehydrate + 6g of activated carbon + 3g of humic/fulvic acid
division #1 - add 2g npk 20-20-20 to 2L of reverse osmiosis (super fruit) water and spray on bulk mix until squeezing shows 1-2 drops of water, pack in bags, pasteurize for 3hours in 80C, mix with 1/3 spawn in weight, after full colonization bring to fruiting conditions

*npk ratios can be added in half with different results*

That third petri dish... it's like a mandala! Love

“There is a way of manipulating matter and energy so as to produce what modern scientists call 'a field of force'. The field acts on the observer and puts him in a privileged position vis-à-vis the universe. From this position he has access to the realities which are ordinarily hidden from us by time and space, matter and energy. This is what we call the Great Work."
― Jacques Bergier, quoting Fulcanelli

These look amazing! I'm curious about adding yeast in agar, because I read somewhere that yeast might cause abnormal growth and is not advised.

"Heavy headed, steady eyes
Horned helm of war comes
No soldier or war chief emperor king
infinite god comes" is the impression i get from that

thanks a bunch ! these few months we are upgrading everything in the workshop, so i will be much more active here and post some experiments i've made (which was made before, but im going to share some pointers), for example growing quality magic mushrooms has become FAR easier than the internet pretends it to be, so just think about 1 step cultivation with massive yields and high alk concentration

adding nutrient yeast powder to agar or sub strait would ensure fulfilling your micro nutrient needs, if you grow from regular grain or your mushrooms seem to be generally weak, you can add a bit of it or grow an isolated mycelium

here are some new stuff
