I chose to do two separate 100g MHRB batches. I used Q21's vinegar/lime tek. With Naphtha and freeze precip I did 4 pulls for each in 5 days and yielded 1.51g white fluffy crystals, then on the 9th day I did a "final" pull will Xylene and yielded .61g of a yellow spice.

During the first batch I used too much vinegar, and compensated with too much lime. I was left with a very wet material. Too wet I suppose, because the first pull only netted 60mg the rest of the pulls were more impressive after I heated the mixture in a water bath to reduce the water content.

The second batch I followed the tek word for word. The first pull netted .3g

For the last pull with Naphtha I combined both 100g MHRB batches for a total of 200g. Then I did my Xylene pull. The Xylene pull I evaporated the yellow solvent until it was a thick oily substance I left that in the warm water bath on a hot plate in the cold so it would cool down slowly. It was sort of strange to see the circular formations form in the cooling oil. The formations seemed more pale, maybe pure dmt? I'll attach photos if possible.

Couple questions... Is the yellow spice going to be considerably less potent than the white spice considering I pulled most of the white stuff out first? Is this batch of bark spent or should I save it for another pull in a couple weeks?

1) almost certainly no.
2) worth having another go with xylene to see if it's spent.

Noflers - This could have been carried out using the original xylene had it not not been evaporated. In this sense, as well as general environmental considerations, it's a shame that the evaporation route was chosen for recovering the extracted alkaloids from the xylene. A simple vinegar wash will pull the alkaloids back into the aqueous phase, ready for re-basing and pulling again with a smaller amount of solvent such as acetone, ethanol (both of which evaporate more easily than xylene), or perhaps naphtha for another freeze precip. As we can see, this is a form of 'Mini-A/B'.

Nonetheless, it's nice to hear of your success. Don't throw away the lime paste just yet, it may have further goodies to give up after standing for a few days.

I'm a little confused. Are you saying I could/should do a vinegar wash and re-base with my "finished" yellow spice product, or on the lime mash? What would the benefit be?

I see/hear "mini a/b" a lot, does that just mean an a/b tek that is short in duration?

I've got a new batch of mhrb and I'm looking
to be a little more efficient, and hopefully
increase my yield. Last extraction led to
a decent 1.4% yield, but I've read reports
of people getting well over 2% but if I could
get anywhere near that I'd be delighted.

I'm taking a slightly different approach this time.
First off, thrift store magic bullet ftw to get my
bark shreds/chips to powder form.
I'm letting the bark acidify in the vinegar in a warm
water bath for ~24hr before adding the lime. Once that
thoroughly mixed I'll let that sit in a warm water
bath for another 24hr mixing periodically. It is at
this point I will do my first pull, expecting to yield
30-60% of the dmt contained in the bark.
