Viceland kentucky ayahuascaCurious on everyone's thoughts if you have seen this recent episode. Part of me found it slightly off putting with very loose use of the word shaman from this ex bank robbers story. yet i just have my own personal stereotypes on what a "shaman" is just because of the way the idea of shamanism is so glorified and put on a pedestal. also he said the Native American Church ordained him as an ayahuasca shaman, does this happen normally? didnt know they actively worked with and produce ayahuasca shamans in the states.
However also it seemed in their own context that these folks are genuinely attempting to do real healing work for people that dont have access or knowledge of the ayahuasca. Its certainly much more cut and dry than the theatrical shamanic practices of today. I like how it seemed to be perfect for the people living in such a culturally deprived location such as the bible belt of Kentucky. What do you guys think? I say good on them
