Well i'm pretty sure you all know about the rants of joe rogan on youtube and after just reading about it i wondered how many flags it would take to get them taken off youtube.. I know they've been posted up many times but the original has over 1 and a quarter million views! Bad news indeed... I've flagged all videos related to it but i think his rants are far more damaging. and quite sad.. No drug, not even alcohol, causes the fundamental ills of society. If we're looking for the source of our troubles, we shouldn't test people for drugs, we should test them for stupidity, ignorance, greed and love of power. ~P.J. O'Rourke

I never had too much of an issue with his videos although he kinda steals direct quotes from Terence Mckenna. We can't burn every famous person who discovers DMT and marvels at it. there will many more after him. There was a really heated discussion about this some time back. Maybe if you search for it you could find it and see how some people feel. -Codfert

while his rants may be a bit immature, and in your face, but why would you want them taken off youtube? is it really any worse than schwagg beer commercials on tv, or sexy cigarette ads in magazines? why flag him?

It will never be taken down. It doesn't violate anything. And thats all youtube cares about. I doubt they care about the well being of dmt and its users.

I would rather loose DMT to the wicked hand of the suppressive Government than to loose (any elements of) free speech to "we the people." I guess it's about time for our William Tell routine.

You Do see the 100% irony in that statement....right? WS All posts are fictional short stories depicting the adventures of WSaged!! None of these events have actually happened and any resemblance to any real persons or incidents is totally coincidence!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you not see the 100% irony in that statemebnt? WS There is nothing ironic about maintaining dignity. I guess it's about time for our William Tell routine.

Quote:I doubt they care about the well being of dmt and its users. yeah, and why would they? how many corporations are there that have any sort of heartbeat, even though they have all the legal rights of an individual person? Quote:I would rather loose DMT to the wicked hand of the suppressive Government than to loose (any elements of) free speech to "we the people." im not sure exactly what you are trying to say, but how, or why would dmt be lost to the "supressive government"? i mean really, who can take away your dreams?

I think it's harmless. What would be detrimental would be videos of under age kids smoking it. That's what they went after salvia for. So if you see anyone smoking it or extracting it on youtube... flag the hell out of them!

I was one of the people that ranted against the possibility Joe Rogan being the face of DMT to the world. I didn't really know who he was way back when the "Joe Rogan Shut the F**k UP!" thread started. When I googled Joe Rogan I got the videos of his confrontations with Carlos Mencia etc. and he was being quite an asshole to Mencia. Since that time I have become more familiar with who Joe Rogan is and have realized that my first impressions of him were not the complete picture. Yes he was being an asshole to the people that he was arguing with but that was exactly his intent and he did it very well. After watching his "Talking Monkeys in Space" stand-up routine and getting more familiar with who he really is and what he has to say I have to say that I was wrong. Although I still would rather that dmt kind of stayed under the "radar" and some of his "facts" may not be 100% correct his basic arguments are sound and I concur with most of what he has to say. Even though I would like dmt to stay under the radar for selfish reasons I have to admire someone who has the balls to speak frankly about his beliefs despite the possible repercussions from "Big Brother" and society at large. In the long run positive change only comes when enough people speak the truth as they see it despite what society as a whole thinks and despite what the short term repercussions of speaking out are. Someone speaking their mind on video is not quite the same as teenagers posting video of themselves rolling around on the floor with drool coming from their mouths. Avatar art created by unknown Cambodian or Laotian. Everything else is fiction.

But don't you see that those rolling drooling kids are a direct result of someone speaking their mind about something those kids thought they needed to be a part of, but were no where near ready for? Where do you think those kids on the floor got the idea & information to put themselves there. You can not rely on the average person to be intelligent at all...so keeping your voice down is essential in the world of heavy psychedelics!! ( At least it used to be... ) Both for staying under the radar yourself & keeping away morons who would endanger such a wonderful thing. ( ...with great power comes great responsibility...or something like that ) WS All posts are fictional short stories depicting the adventures of WSaged!! None of these events have actually happened and any resemblance to any real persons or incidents is totally coincidence!!!!!!!!!!!!

Has Rogan done anything wrong, other than popularizing DMT with the UFC/frat boy crowd?

so dmt isnt going anywhere, and neither are naive kids. so maybe there should be some sort of information/educational resource for teaching young people about these things. sorta like sesame street. it would be difficult to come across with a neutral point of view, without glamorizing it. but, again, i think youtube would probably be a natural place for something like this. not sure that "under the radar" is an option at this point. --information moves too fast, and i kinda like it
