How to salvage ayahuasca brew going moldy? Options

A friend has noticed that his ayahuasca brew, which he made 3 weeks ago started to develop some sort of whitish, fluffy mold at the top of it.

The brew is stored in a plastic bottle in the dark corner of the room, at normal air temperature.

He is wondering if this can be salvaged by removing the mold and re-boiling the brew and then freezing it?

Any advice on this would be helpful! Thanks.

I can't say for sure, but I would be surprised if anything harmful lived through being skimmed off and then a 20 or so minute boil. Less time would probably even work, but I'd want to be as sure as I can to not complicate an already powerful experience.

Heat kills microorganisms but does not remove the toxins that they can produce.
