A plan... needs proofreading! Options

Hi everyone!

SWIM has NEVER done any kind of extraction before in his life. He has been researching diligently, and thinks he has come up with a plan, but has many questions, and was wondering if anyone here would be kind enough to proofread his plan before he proceeds. Because lots of the jargon in all the extraction techniques is very alien to him, it would help his own learning process and DMT independence significantly to make a plan in his own words.

Thank you!!

SWIM wants to attempt a d-limonene/FASW to freebase technique.

1) If SWIM finds a kilo of MHRB, is there any amount of material he is recommended to start with? Everything? 100g?

2) SWIM is interested in preserving possible mystery alkaloids, and wants to go the route of STB, rather than A/B (and using heat). Jorkest's tech says to use 80g of lye per 1.2L of water: how does this measurement change for using sodium carbonate instead?

3) Are all milk jugs HDPE? How can one tell?

4) A stainless steel turkey baster is a must, correct? (or at least HDPE? Razz )

5) Where is a good place to purchase acetone? What requirements must this acetone have to be suitable for use in an extraction (purity, etc.)?

6) WHAT IS magnesium sulfate anhydrous? Where could this be acquired? Can anyone tell me anything about it, practical uses, etc? This one is completely new to SWIM.

7) Whenever anything must be filtered in this technique, does simply stuffing cotton balls into a stainless steel funnel suffice?

Cool Does anyone have any possible bits and pieces of information or advice they might recommend to someone like SWIM? =D

With deepest gratitude...
Some things will come easy, some will be a test

1: start with 25g or 50g, even with only a .5% yield SWIY could get 3-6 and 6-12 doses respectively. Not bad, take it slow.

2: Using Sodium carbonate for STB or A/B will create CRAZY emulsions, at least in SWIMS several attempts with it. SWIM thinks you should look into using Lime (CaOH) it is just as powerful but can be used with VERY LITTLE water. (Only enough to make a paste)

3: SWIM has had no problems using milk jugs, even made a rudimentary seperatory funnel w/ milk jug, tubing and sealant!

4: SWIM uses his milk jug funnel in combination of zip-lock bags. He used to use only zip locks and thinks with the advent of the new lime teks he thinks he will not need his bulky funnel anymore due to massive decrease in liquid used.

The zip lock bag takes about 5-10 tries to get the technique perfect. But it will take off 80-95% of the liquid with NONE OF THE BOTTOM LAYER.
Just fill a zip lock bag, let emulsions settle, hold bag from top corner. cut bottom corner and pinch when the bottom layer is gone.

5: SWIM found some at rona, home depot and most hardware stores. SWIM is not sure why SWIY would use acetone. d-limonene or Xylene would be much better for full alkaloid pulls as far as SWIM knows. SWIM has had great success with Xylene, though stinky as hell, he ordered d-limonene and is eager to try it out.

6:SWIM has no idea, XD

7:SWIM likes using cheesecloth w/ a stainless sift. But only uses it for ayahuasca brews, not STB or A/B. The sift seems quite enough.

SWIM thinks SWIY should look at the non-toxic extraction page. It is the tek SWIM is most interested in trying, his kg of bark will be here soon.... hopefully

cheers and good times. Take it slow, have patience, failure is always an option, but if you follow a tek *VERBATIM* failure is unlikely.
Q21Q21's Tek: A comprehensive guide to extracting DMT
The 2 teks use non-toxic lime and vinegar and Tek 1: d-Limonene or Xylene or Tek 2: Naptha to produce very quick high yields with the greatest of ease.

I am almost never on this site anymore so I will likely not answer PMs

6. anhydrous magnesium sulfate is used to remove polar junk (which is soluble in water) from an extraction.
for example, you combined your naphtha pulls and got loads of mhrb\lye solution in the bottom of a jar.
so you put some an. mag sulfate, which is insoluble in np solvent stir and remove it.It will absorb all the unnecessary junk.
Where to buy?.. hmm..no idea. That's lab stuff
have fun.)
all my posts are random generated and can not be evaluated as distinct ideas

3 - HDPE containers are labeled as such, usually on the bottom. Milk jugs are HDPE. For STB, SWIM finds it's best to leave the MHRB in the lye water for the entire duration of the extraction, so he uses wider mouth jugs, such as HDPE cat litter jugs.

4 - A glass gravy separator may be a good investment.

5 - Kleanstrip is generally considered a decent brand of acetone and only contains acetone and a little water and a tiny bit of toluene.

6 - Epsom salt is hydrated magnesium sulfate and can be baked in the oven at 400F until ashy to be rendered anhydrous.

7 - SWIM's favorite method of filtering is to use an HDPE bottle with the bottom cut off as a funnel with cotton stuffed in the neck.

SWIM never uses it for this purpose. All he ever uses it for is to dried basified fumarate paste so that no moisture contamination crosses into the acetone when he uses it to pull freebase https://wiki.dmt-nexus.me/The_Ne...ndbook#Drytek_Conversion and to remove water from alcohols and acetone (polar solvents).
