Hello Everyone,
I'm really interested in trying smoking DMT for the first time. In the past I only smoked marijuana one time with a friend and I experienced literally zero effects.
My concern is this: My Aunt is officially schizophrenic and My sister suffers from bipolar disorder. Now, I never had a single episode of allucinations or mental breakdown. To be honest though I suffered from sever social anxiety in the past with associated panic attacks. Getting older (I am 28 yo now) I was able to overcome these fears (without drugs). Today I can be a lil bit anxious at times but in the range of normality.
Some people say I should completely avoid DMT, others say that in a controlled environment could be terapheutic insted. Now, where is the truth? Do you think that due to my family history I am out of the game? Please help me understand.
Thank you.

Hey, well, personally I have family members with bi polar and schizophrenia, I have been using psychs for a couples years, I am fine, I don't think you will be, but I am, I cant definitively give you an answer, it seems to be a bad idea judging by many posts i have seen on the internet, because it could bring it about, could be dangerous, could be benign. I think you should maybe test out low doses of mushrooms or DMT to see if there is any ill effect, Dont plundge in too deeply at first.

Although considering you are prone to panic attacks im not sure if DMT would be for you at all. it can be incredibly profound. and often shake you up quite a bit.. I know people to get anxiety attacks on various psychedelics...

If you decide to do DMT (which I advise against), make sure you have a trip sitter and start really low on the dosage in a very comfortable environment.

I deal with some issues myself (severe depression and depersonalization disorder to name the main two) and a challenging trip can make them much worse for even weeks afterwards.
DMT has literally saved my life but has also challenged me greatly most of the times I have been within it's grasp.
