Swim was searching for the alternative to lye, because it's very hard to get in the area where he lives. He found out that drain pipe cleaner has NaOH, so he decided to write a "conspirated" letter to the manufacture asking what are the other parts of the cleaner. Nobody answered.. Swim's sure that it also contains some lemon aroma (perhaps it could be evaporated by baking it abit in oven) What about sodium hypochlorite? Cleaner doesn't smell chlorine and looks like real lye (it's granulated) what would happen if hypochlorite is added? will it spoil the whole extraction and go to np solvent? all my posts are random generated and can not be evaluated as distinct ideas Evening Glory wrote:This is a medicine, remember, not some video you can watch inside your head.

Ehm... that's bleach isn't it? I'm not sure about that.
I wouldn't use it.

well, according to net, it should degrade if using hot water. when water is applied to lye, it get's hot. So probably there shouldn't be any hipochlorite.. all my posts are random generated and can not be evaluated as distinct ideas Evening Glory wrote:This is a medicine, remember, not some video you can watch inside your head.

Absolutely not! The only drain cleaner that happens to be acceptable are those indicated as 100% lye crystals. Not saying it won't work, but that's a pretty nasty and possibly dangerous way of going about it. If it's difficult to get lye, go for pickling lime or at least sodium carbonate, or supposedly it's possible to get KOH--SWIM doesn't know the ins and outs of this, however. Seriously, don't waste your bark or risk your health. To SWIM's knowledge, none of these reagents have been tested for this purpose, so unless SWIY wants to pioneer a new toxic extraction method that may or may not turn out hazardous, don't bother.

ok, swim's gonna make 10g mhrb extraction using drain cleaner, just to see the results (not smoking it). thanks! all my posts are random generated and can not be evaluated as distinct ideas Evening Glory wrote:This is a medicine, remember, not some video you can watch inside your head.

10g isn't much of an investment, but still..... ill advised All posts written by Madcap should be regarded as fiction.

I would still still recommend against it. You run a narrow risk of producing chlorine gas. Sodium hypochlorite is also a strong oxidizer, so if he's using any of the standard NPS's, SWIY probably won't get anything out of it. I know SWIY's only doing 10g, but why else except to work up to larger amounts? And 10g honestly isn't going to tell SWIY much, anyway.

yeah man be careful please
forget these impure chemicals, you dont want to risk poisoning yourself (even if you dont smoke it in the end)!!
do an A/B instead of an STB and use sodium carbonate or KOH instead.... Only use pure products...

NOT a good idea. Just bad-bad-bad all around. Why are so many people asking for advice and then not listening to the advise they are given? Not trying to singel out the OP, I've just seen a rash of this type of activity. Please just go get some lye or KOH. A/B extractions result in purer spice anyways.... Listen to the advise you have been given! The Spice extends life The Spice expands consciousness The Spice is vital for space travel ___________________________________________________________________________________________________ Never underestimate the power of STUFF!
I am certifiably insane, as such all posts written by me should be regarded as utter nonsense or attempts to get attention.
I don't know SWIM and personally don't trust him at all. If SWIM is posting, most likely I will not respond...as I said, I don't trust the guy. YOU I trust, but never SWIM.

I would just stay away from lye altogether... Long live the unwoke.

ok, guys, thanks. won't try it. perhaps using sodium carb. in a\b is a better idea. all my posts are random generated and can not be evaluated as distinct ideas Evening Glory wrote:This is a medicine, remember, not some video you can watch inside your head.

I have used KOH (caustic potash) sold as "ph up" from a hydroponics store with very positive results!
