I have some unknown clones of T. Peruvianius / T. pachanoi.
Is it possible to do a qualitative Test with Marquis Reagent on the fresh cutting before extraction?
Just as an yes/no Alkaloide Test.

The cactus flesh would interfere i think

The sulfuric acid will attack it and turn black overpowering the red color the mescaline turns.
Also the mesc conc will be very in the flesh low making it hardly visible.
You need to extract it first.

Fortunately, there's a very nice thread on microextraction of cactus to be found around here somewhere. That should help make your life a little easier, Herba Luisa (and, Happy Anniversary!)

“There is a way of manipulating matter and energy so as to produce what modern scientists call 'a field of force'. The field acts on the observer and puts him in a privileged position vis-à-vis the universe. From this position he has access to the realities which are ordinarily hidden from us by time and space, matter and energy. This is what we call the Great Work."
― Jacques Bergier, quoting Fulcanelli
