I've asked before but didn't get too far with an answer, is there a way to retake it? I feel like I'm stuck in the waiting room as a new member still coming close to a year. Short of starting a new account is there a way?
Thanks for any help,
-sen

I think the promotion to comes more with posting quality/amusing/educational/interesting/engaging content. The questionnaire is not a test where you get points, it's as much of a yardstick on your interest and an educational process as it is a ridiculously long list of questions that leaves one wondering if it will ever end. Laughing
Some people get promoted within a week and 20 posts, whilst others are around more than a year and have a mob of posts before it happens.
Just be yourself brother. Don't worry about it. Bring as much as you can to the table and join the feast. Don't be scared to write in depth thoughts and feelings, insights, opinions and observations. There is no such things as tldr here. Engage and be engaged. Thumbs up

If you complete it, it starts over and the new answers overwrite the old ones.

The problem I experience with the new member restrictions is that a lot of the threads which I would like to contribute to are in areas of the forum I cannot currently post in. I strongly believe in posting useful information rather than just idle banter to hasten promotion. As a result, my post count remains quite low and unrestricted access even further away.

It would be nice if more sections of the forum were made accessible to new members by a system of individual post vetting by moderators or senior members. Threads would be more streamlined and perhaps more useful information would be added to the pool of knowledge and experience.

This happened to me also. I posted a new thread in the welcome are and referenced the thread I really wanted to post in. Once I became a full member (and in my case it took 6 months) I made a note on the thread I started that future updates would be in the member area thread. For tidiness sake, I also put in a request for the mods to merge the two threads together if they think that is appropriate - whichever choice is ok with me but wanted to make sure they were aware.

Another option is to consider the research area where new members can also post.

Bottom line: don't let not having access to the main forum stop you from posting your topics of interest, they will likely interest others.

Also, get to the chat from time to time. Sometimes you may find folks there and get to know them.

I'm going through the questionnaire as we speak, this is my first post! 6 months Loveall Shocked
I can't view anyone elses pictures and have loads of my own along with notes to my little extraction that could maybe help others. I wonder how long it will be before I can submit anything useful Confused

Edit: looks like I can post my own at least, that's a good start Smile
