After STB extraction from 50g mimosa hostilis root bark, the amount was about 0.5g of oily stuff. After recrustallization the amount of pure dmt was 0.1g. This means only 20% survived the recrystallization.

Are these amounts normal?
From 50g mhrb to 0.5g oily?
From 0.5g oily to 0.1g pure?

That suggests that oily stuff is mostly DMT. So is there a point in recrystallization?
Because if most oily stuff is dmt, then it seems that good dmt was wasted.

It depends, bark may not contain more than 1%, or you didn't do enough pulls, or used bad solvent and etc. You can't really say. Generally 1% is normal yield, but if it was too contaminated it may not be.

What you could do was vape a few milligrams and check the potency.


Never done re-x and can't say for sure but I guess that depends too. it's possible you used too much solvent..

My last extraction:

2.89 g oily
1.18 g pure (40% yield, recrystallized from heptane)
1.41 g residue (0.3 g loss)

The residue is still perfectly active and seems good for changa.
