Synchronicities are really interesting, and often are more a reflection of what is on your mind or what you are working through than a discrete entity (Satan) reaching out to you. Although it could be both at once, really it is impossible to say and often safer to stick with the thought process that the universe is reacting to what you are thinking about than that i.e Satan is reaching out to you through DMT.

I would encourage you to read some of Robert Anton Wilson's book, maybe Cosmic Trigger, for more info on this phenomena.

Also, the pentagram has many meanings in different cultures, and indeed Satan or Lucifer as an entity is not considered to be evil in all philosophies (Gnosticism for instance). I wonder where that quote came from in regards to the Masonic order? I would suspect it was written by a Christian... I would also point out that Set was a complex being who was not originally demonized in the stories about him, that seems to have come along long after his stories were originally written down.

I have come to see the old testament as emerging when humans became sedentary and started farming and raising animals. The Bible is full of references to sheep, wine making, bread, wheat, etc which are the signature of sedentary culture.

However, such an emerging sedentary society would want to separate itself from the more traditional and ancient shamanic societies which we may have evolved in through the millennia. The story of Adam and Eve seems to be designed to break from shamanism and denounce plant teachers. Also, the Bible declares us masters of nature which is another clear break from shamanism. Seems like some sedentary ex-nomads had delusions of grandeur after being able to grow some crop from seed and saw themselves as masters. This approach that breaks with nature and shamanism could mark the begining of the arrogant modern western society witch rationalizes the ridiculous notion that nature can be made illegal. This is the culture that created the concept of Satan I believe.

My point? Maybe years of Christian imprinting are trying to make you feel uneasy or guilty?if so, don't let it, abandon the false idea of Satan which sedentary cultures invented to portray the first maligned shaman, who was just trying to bring knowledge to humanity using nature and teacher plants. Embrace nature, including it's beautiful snakes. No need to feel guilt when abandoning silly human monkey ideas.

From the beginning snakes have been a problem for mammals, the fossil evidence shows snakes were already around when the first mammals evolved about 100 million years ago. A study, published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences , provides key experimental evidence in support of the hypothesis that the threat of snakes strongly influenced the evolution of the primate brain. That's probably why we see snakes when we smoke DMT.

When the Christ was made the only man who could rebirth - a basic feature of the Shaman and entheonauts since the dawn of time (transformation into spirit animals, being inhabited by the gods and great spirit being common) - it took away from us our ability to transform, and seek within the depth of our souls. Not that anyone did not accomplish it and some paganistic roots survived as the church saw they would better integrate some of it (some made it far in time, persisting in the 19th century).

Snakes are a symbol of regeneration too - and a sexual one at that! Everything Christian saw as evil, the flesh. Imagine now an animal that evolves in flesh, endlessly. Cyclical and bound to Earth. Reincarnation was everywhere, breaking from it is also a separation with nature - it's petty linear time. They cut time even! Separation from our ancestors. Well of course because for our ancestors their elders were one with the Gods!

(Note also that "Horned" Gods/Spirits are symbol for rebirth too - Trees and Deers - I can see it become usual for rebirth to wear horned skulls on their heads. Though I don't know if Deers where a source of aversion for the Church)

Christians recorded all psychedelic users as Satanist. Witches they became, same for the people of the New World which were barely more than animals, savages, for the well educated and civilized Christian fellow. They were possessed by Satan and demons. But Christians cames to save mankind (all mankind since psychedelic use is attested since as long as we can record everywhere in the world) from the demon. We are now living in a post-Christian world. The inversion is complete, we have escaped the cycle of natures and it has given birth to hyper-rationalism.
