I'm wondering what I did wrong this time. The first time I did Nomans Tek, I got a GREAT yield from the first batch (pulled about 5 times, 5th time yielded nothing). This time, new bark, shredded, 200g lye, 200g bark, 3 liters water, let lye dissolve, let bark sit in lye for about 4 hours (I had to leave), 200 ml of naptha.. but it won't separate.
I've shaken it 3 times over a period of about 8 hours. Going to shake it up again before pulling it but I see a very very small naptha layer. I'm wondering what causes this and how can I prevent it in the future?
Thanks!

hmm.. there are some tips may be helpful LINK.. that mostly occurs because of lack of NaOH and water. happened to me too before.. added some more naoh+water and everything was fine. And dont shake too strong, either stir gently with a spoon or just shake very gently. EDIT: LOL hahaha yea we wrote at the same time endlessness

SWIM has noticed that if you have emulsions or want the mixture to separate faster to roll the container over and over again opposed to shaking it. This allows the every thing to mix without agitating too much and should reduce the amount of pressure you build when shaking violent.
