Hey Guys and Gals of DMT Nexus!

New here, this is my first post but I recently tried my hand at a DMT extraction using Naphtha and ACRB but somehow got different results from the video my friend sent me after following all of the steps.. I am not sure where I went wrong or what I can do to recover it or I am even able to recover it but hopefully you guys can help me out and possibly point me in the right direction for this extraction and any future extractions I might embark on!

I apologize if it sounds like I am writing a Tek on here right now versus just walking you through the steps I took.. Its just a little hard to listen to the video and write the steps without them coming out this way lol.. But let me know if i made anything confusing or if my pictures dont post properly.. Thanks again!

Here we go!

Powdered ACRB Extraction:

Measure out 100g Powdered ACRB and 500ml of Warm Water

Mix them both together inside a large Bottle/Container (which has a lid) thoroughly ensuring theres no clumps in the ACRB

Now Add 60ml of White Vinegar to the mix ensuring the PH level is somewhere between 2 and 4

Place entire container into a warm water bath for 1 and a half hours checking on it around every 15 minutes and giving it a good stir

Now I need you to measure out 80g of Salt as well as 500ml of Warm Water

In a separate container now mix the salt into the warm water stirring thoroughly ensuring it has fully dissolved into the liquid


Now Add this Salt Water mixture to your original container which I will now refer to as my "Soup"


Then in a separate container Measure out 60g of Lye and another 300ml of Warm Water

Mix them together in a separate heat resistant container making sure you mix the Lye into the water and not vice versa due to the reaction that will take place

Now add this new mixture of the Lye and the water to your original "soup" along with another 200ml of just plain water

Place entire container in a warm water bath for 2 hours checking on it and stirring around every 15 minutes..


Now I need you to measure out 50ml of Naphtha or whatever you choose to use as your non polar solvent and place this into a warm water bath

Then Add the Naphtha to your soup allowing it to separate and into two separate layers

After letting separate into two separate layers stir the Naphtha and the soup back up mixing them together and then allowing them to separate for a total of 5 times

Once you've let the mixture mix and separate 5 times you want to pull the top Naphtha Layer using a Micro Pipette separating it into a collection jar

Repeat this entire process 5 timesmixed and separated 5 times take your micro pipette and remove this Naphtha Layer and put it into a separate container

Repeat this entire process of measuring out 50ml of Naphtha, warming it up in hot water bath, mixing into soup, mixing and separating, and pulling until you have a total of 250 ml of Naphtha in your collection container


Now measure out 500ml of warm water and 60ml of White Vinegar

Add Vinegar to Water

Then take the 250ml of Naphtha you pulled from your soup and mix that with the Vinegar and Water solution you just mixed together

Stir and mix together this solution 3-4 times over 10 to 15 minutes allowing the mixture to mix and fully separate into 2 or sometimes even 3 layers

Now syphon off the top or sometimes even the two top layers placing them in a separate collecting container leaving just the Acidic water in your container

Now Measure out 200ml of water as well as 50g of Lye and then mix together

Then mix the Lye water mixture with the Acidic water you just syphoned off the top layer from and observing the milky white color it becomes

Now measure out 50ml of Naphtha and then mix this Naphtha with the Milky Soup we just created.. Then Mixing and allowing to separate several times and then syphoning off and adding another 50ml until the the milky color of the solution becomes clear

Once the solution is clear cover with seran wrap and then place in the freezer to freeze precipitate for a minimum of 18 hours

Syphon off Naphtha and scrape bottom to collect the DMT



So these are all the steps I followed but where I ran into trouble was the final step of adding the Naphtha and pulling it from the solution until it goes from milky colored to clear.

later on in the video he says that it took him only 5 pulls to get his from milky to clear and mine took like an entire day. I don't know if that was because maybe I took the whole clear thing way to seriously or if I screwed up somewhere along the way but as you can see from this picture at the bottom of my container that the milky water was in theres a substance at the bottom just sitting there and I don't know if thats supposed to be there or not or what exactly it is..

and then also the Naphtha and stuff I syphoned off and then put in the freezer.. As you can see the bottom part of it froze.. I think this is because I obviously got some water in there accidentally but I just didn't want to let it thaw or do anything thats going to ruin me extracting the DMT off the bottom so I was wondering how to go about fixing this..

Does anyone have any ideas?

If anyone would like to see the video of the Tek that my friend sent me its really good and thorough and is an easy way to step by step be walked through the method for anyone looking to give this all a try!

But yeah please any information on how I can save this and possibly recover would be amazing and highly highly appreciated!

Hova after doing just three extractions myself, the first failing miserably and the other 2 giving excellent results,
I would use my humbling and limited experience to ask just two things : How sure are you that the product you have is actually root bark because there are apparently a few cases of unscrupulous vendors just selling normal bark, and why do you bother with the acid phase. A STB TEK would work perfectly, I think.

Oh and a third would be when using powdered raw material use I would use much more water and therefore more NAOH.

Just some thoughts from a fellow traveller.....

PS. Time is also your friend. As a fellow noob at this extraction game when I read a TEK that calls for soaking something for an hour or two, I give it a day or two. Add time to any equation and the outcome always intensifies

You are talking about a video you followed, what video? Why not follow any of the tried and tested teks in the Nexus?

Regarding your description, sounds fine but maybe overly complicated (or time/resource consuming) to do the extra salting and re-conversion to freebase if its your first time extracting. I'd just freeze/evap the naphtha after the pulls on the initial basified liquid, and see what you get, and then decide if you want to further purify or not.

That being said, Im wondering why are you saying you failed in the first place?

Ok, you say the video says something about the solution going milky or clear.. IMO ignore those kind of 'landmarks' since a milky or colored salting pull may be related with other factors (temperature, other impurities frmo plant, impurities from vinegar etc), so if you just try to follow you may get stuck unnecessarily. The fact is, after 3 or so pulls, most of your alkaloids should be out already.

As for your bottom layer freezing, are you sure thats frozen water and not precipitated crystals? HArd to see from the pictures.

Also, nothing is lost unless you throw it away, so letting it thaw wont ruin anything. If you got water in there, you should separate before freezing, yes.

I'd probably just let it thaw, see if it forms two layers. If it does, separate the layers and freeze again the naphtha one, if it doesnt separate in two layers, then whatever was there was crystals, not frozen water ,so just freeze again and retrieve your crystals.

Just to be sure, dont throw anything away, neither the supposed water layer on the bottom of your precipitating jar, just keep it separate for the moment, if anything goes wrong you can always go back and recover your alkaloids.
