Is it worth $100..or more? I might have the chance to participate in 2 ceremonies over 3 days in the next month or so..Here in BC run by a guy that learned in the amazon..but it's $$..like $3-400.. I am kinda weary of paying that much..I was told it was to cover the cost of the medicine..but aya is soo cheap and I drink on my own already anyway..I was kinda of excited at first but now I dunno...I might just be paying all this money to drink some ayahuasca with a bunch of strangers and get paranoid Long live the unwoke.

For that kind of scratch you could get a clinical psychologist to be your trip-sitter.

that sounds very, very NOT right. i did a ceremony IN BRAZIL with a santo daime church and the cost was FREE. i wound up donating $50 to their church. aya is beyond cheap. whomever it is that is trying to charge 3-4 HUNDRED DOLLARS should be ashamed of themselves. that is exhorbitant and greedy and completely starts everything off on the wrong foot. ...better to organize a group event by yourself....get some MHRB and some Caapi vine for a grand total of MAYBE $100, gather a small group of close friends you feel completely safe exploring with, determine if you are going to try to have a "led experience" or simply an imbibing ritual then a more free-form-do-what-you-feel experience, pick a righteous location and have a guaranteed positive experience! man that bums me out when i read of people charging so much for an aya ceremony....this is righteous medicine people!! it should be shared for as close to free as humanly possible. turning something so profound into a business breaks my heart... just my two cents. I'd say try a moderate dose of Aya on your own - say 30g of high quality caapi or 3g of rue and 10g of MHRB tea - and then decide how to proceed.

A good friend of mine spent this last spring in Peru & participated in 3 nights of ceremony's with a somewhat " famous" Curendaro & he said it all cost him about $30!!That's with food, a private cabin to sleep in & the medicine!!!$300-400? Ooh-Fah!Costs me about $20-50 to make 2-4 doses myself, with plants from Maya...fairly expensive source! WS All posts are fictional short stories depicting the adventures of WSaged!! None of these events have actually happened and any resemblance to any real persons or incidents is totally coincidence!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOVE AND GRATITUDE!! Yeah thats whats I was thinking as well...I have already drank alone quite a few times..It just sort of came up through a friend that this was going on and was asked if I wanted to come...I am planning on going to peru anyway eventually.. I get kinda angry when I hear about people charging so much as well...I have sat with people so many times all night and given them mushrooms for free..salvia and cactus as well..and of course DMT...I couldnt imagine asking people for even $10..let alone hundreds..sort of bad karma I wanted to try ibogaine at the iboga clinic near here as well..but it's over $1000 Long live the unwoke.

yes antrocles in Dreamland when going to Daime its free, but they have a big established structure and they are already taking donations from every member, plus its in the home country of the Aya.. When one is talking about a shamanic ritual elsewhere, there are many extra costs, not only of the aya transport, but also of the location where it happens, and if there is a native shaman, one has to pay his ticket and his staying in the western world, etc..
With that being said, I must say that still, 400 bucks is ABSURD... I was once calculating how much it would cost to bring one shaman I know from the amazon to europe to do some rituals, and considering the very high costs bringing him and maintaining him and renting a place and everything, we had calculated that we would have to charge about 100 euros (which is about 150e) per person (and of course I didnt plan on taking a single cent from this money), which is less than half of what you are saying and europe is way more expensive....
So I would say for this money rather save up a bit more and travel to south america

I am part of a group here in London where we pay between £35-£50 (thats around $60-$80 I guess) a session, for the peoples time but mainly to send to the brazillian shaman that makes the brew that we drink. His brew is very powerful, on a different level to what I have brewed at home for my solo sessions. So I think it is worth it... I really dont agree with people charging lots of money claiming they have had authentic training or whatnot. It seems disempowering. Even in our group here, if one member is low on cash and wants to attend, other people will chip in or they will get it for free... its mainly just to cover costs... at the end of the day spreading ayahuasca should not be about making $£$£$£ ... yes people should be able to live from what they do but there is a balance to be found. balaganist is a fictional character who loves playing the game of infinite existence. he amuses himself by posting stories about his made up life in our plane of physical reality. his origins are in other dimensions... he merely comes here to play.

I think $100 to $300 is fair for a week long Aya' session where you take Ayahuasca at least three times (or more).
