Saludos nexus
After a very successful STB on MHRB using hexane as the NPS my cat´s very interested in a xilene extraction of any good stuff left in the basic solution. Can´t wait to test the famous Jungle Spice. Any advise on this subject will be appreciated.
Thank in advance.

What xylene catches out of the leftovers will not make crystals, but remain orange to red to brown syrup. Will be active though, but not vape friendly. Can use it for oral pharmahuasca though.

Let the cat salt back the xylene with some water + HCL drops
Check if pH is still low after the salt back action.
Let evap.
Add water, let evap.
add water, check ph, if still low, let evap.
add water, once ph is higher than 5, let evap, done.
So it takes time.

The multiple evaps will get rid of xylene traces and HCL.
It should not smell anymore.

Because of smell, my cat prefers toluene over xylene.
Pls come back with results Thumbs up

PS you can do a zinc reduction to see how much of that syrup was dmt oxide.

Thanks Jees
Great! After adding 8 drops or HCL -acido muriatico- and some water (still amazed with the stuff you can buy in a mexican Tlapaleria) the goo turned brownish.
It took forever to evapNeutral .
Cat repeated process twice without adding any more acid. After several hours the resulting yield is kind of a brown/orange with a honey consistency and a strog odor of spice mixed with a flower scent. Very low yield compared with the previously obtained spice. I wonder if the lack of PH measuring strips had something to do with the resulting low yield?
Anyway the cat is certainly happy with the results and I´ll be testing it for sure.Twisted Evil

low yield --> Remember your bark was already pulled by hexane.

And actually that is good news, because that means there was little oxidized dmt in bark bark. The hexane would not have taken the oxidized dmt, but the xylene would have grabbed it. One don't want a lot of oxidized dmt in bark.

For better evaping one needs a big surface like a pyrex pan.

Always a very thin layer.

I hope that the last time that your cat added just water, that the pH was not too low (of the brown water), try to keep above 4 - 5 there. If not let evap and add water again.

Was the xylene smell gone too?

My cat let evap last time for a month or so, the pan just sits there. Result in a sticky brown syrup film with the typical smell.
