Ayahuasca on STARZ' Ash vs Evil Dead TV Show Options

I'm a fan of the Evil Dead movies, Bruce Campbell, to a lesser extent Sam Ramey. I'm also a huge fan of DMT. I'm not sure how I feel on these things mixing though. I'm really liking this show. I was however caught off guard when a main character takes Ash to his uncle for a Ayahuasca session. They didn't necessarily portray it in a bad light. I would rather the term curandero used than bruho, but it can still be correct termed this way i suppose. I'm more concerned about this subject/substance hitting main stream in this format and getting the wrong kind of attention/perspective from the masses who are uninformed. I can see someone thinking it's a spooky thing akin to voodoo or witchcraft and therefor evil or dark.

I would love anyone's opinion on this. Here's the full episode. Skip to about 7:50 if you only want to see the Ayahuasca part.

If it's not mainstream, Aya is on a main tributary!

It's inevitable, perhaps were here to help guide it responsibly?

Love the evil dead series and Bruce Campbell is hilarious. Will check it out!Thumbs up

Aya hit mainstream when Lindsay Lohan publicly started singing it's praises in tabloids. Everything else is just a drop in the river now.

Ayahuasca seems to pop up in strange places... In Wilfred (the US edition with Elijah Wood) Season 2 episode 11, Ryan takes Ayahuasca to try and figure out who and what Wilfred is. To say the least, they did a pretty good job at not sensationalizing it too much and his "trip" is very strange... I highly recommend that show with or without scenes about Ayahuasca.

Yeah, and it crops up in Jane the Virgin (Season 1, episode i) of all places. Not a bad treatment of it there, considering it's a meta-telanovela. Louisa is inspired by an ayahuasca retreat to quit other drugs and dedicate herself to living completely honestly (confessing affairs, etc.).

"Blueberry" had a fairly accurately-stylized psychedelic sequence in it, especially given that graphics weren't so advanced in 2004. Most people didn't like the movie but I enjoyed it quite a bit. (U.S. title is "Renegade"Pleased

Guillermo Arevalo the famous Shipibo shaman is also in this movie - he plays an Indian.

Ash vs Evil dead is pretty hilarious. Used to love those movies back in the day when I was growing up....

Lots of shows and movies with Ayahuasca lately... Weeds, Wanderlust, Noah... There was even that Crystal Fairy movie about San Pedro...

There's a new film called Embrace of the Serpent. It's got some aya and by the looks of it yopo use going on. It's received high praise at Cannes drawing comparisons (flip side of the coin) to Werner Herzog's Fitzcarraldo. Looks pretty great, I still haven't gotten a chance to see it, but looks like it's got screenings going on throughout February. Aya seems to be everywhere these days, welcome back to the world and thank you mother aya Smile love beneath me, love to the left of me, love to the right of me, love inside of me, love around me, love above me, love to the Earth, love to the Universe
