Nausea on vaping harmalas Options

I'm doing a bit of research into harmalas which maybe I'll publish in a few weeks if I get any definite results.

In the meantime just a quick question:

Has anyone experienced nausea from vaping/smoking any kind of harmala?
(This could include leaf form, freebase or harmala salt e.g. harmala:HCl)

Nausea seems to be a pretty common side effect for oral consumption but I'm not particularly interested in that.

Many thanks for any input Smile

Vaping freebase harmalas? No nausea to speak of, no. Some other people have experienced it though, that much I know.

I would think that perhaps if you're experiencing nausea that maybe it could benefit from further clean up steps? I'm pretty meticulous about getting it as pure as possible but others might not.

I get vicious nausea from oral harmalas.

Hi Metanoia
No, I'm not experiencing any nausea Very happy

I'm asking more by way of a survey. I'm doing a bit of research into taking harmalas in different formats. I'll put the results on here if I end up getting ending anything meaningful to publish Smile

It would be great to hear 10 different people's opinions!! Or 50 come to that Surprised

When vaping harmalas, sometimes I would get nauseous; sometimes I wouldn't. It didn't seem to be entirely dose dependent either.

IME, I have never encountered nausea from smoking/vaping harmalas.

Cool, 3 opinions so far.

Only 7 (or 47) more to go to get a balanced cross section of the community!

Many thanks

IME, nausea was noticeable the first few times I did full MAOI doses of oral harmalas, but since then...nothing, whether oral or vaped.

I think it's just a stage, getting rid of crap etc.

In hindsight, I would have worked with harmalas alone, building steadily up to full doses, I think that's the trick, rather than diving straight into home-brewed ayahuasca, or whatever...

“I sometimes marvel at how far I’ve come - blissful, even, in the knowledge that I am slowly becoming a well-evolved human being - only to have the illusion shattered by an episode of bad behaviour that contradicts the new and reinforces the old. At these junctures of self-reflection, I ask the question: “are all my years of hard work unraveling before my eyes, or am I just having an episode?” For the sake of personal growth and the pursuit of equanimity, I choose the latter and accept that, on this journey of evolution, I may not encounter just one bad day, but a group of many.”

In my case I wouldn't exactly call it nausea, as time goes by I don't really notice anything now, but first several times smoking/vaping I just felt like I had a full belly of alcohol. I have noticed if I have something on my stomach that the feeling is much stronger than if I do it on an empty stomach. This could be in my head, but seemed real enough to make sure I was running on empty before I smoked any. So now I just make sure I have an empty stomach before hand and now there's no issues. Just an initial drunkenness feeling at first when it kicks in but that doesn't last long either. Oh and I'm using freebase. Good luck with your paper.

Not sure on the pharma/aya method, haven't got around to doing it that way.

Interesting! Worth a conversation in its own right. What was it with the harmalas that made you think that?

Thanks for that - and all the extra details.

No nausea from vaped, very little from oral if in salt form.
