Dear Friends,

I can safely say that my first DMT experience will occur in 1-2 weeks. I plan to perform my own extraction, find a safe time/place, and smoke it.

I have been reading experience reports, threads, and live chatting with people about it. Thanks to all who've talked so far.

I am naturally having waves of anticipation. Yesterday I walked in nature, staring into the forests. The wind blew innumerable leaves, and I thought of them in a different way, such as complex photosynthesis machines, rather than just trees. It was beautiful.

I also looked at geometric flowers and trees. I wonder if, while on my first DMT trip, I will see all of this natural complexity and beauty in a different, rapidly cycling form, and be able to travel inside the microscopic cells of these organisms.

I'm also looking forward to potentially receiving a new look on reality. The decision to pursue DMT has more than just one factor behind it.

Send me any advice or just encouraging thoughts, this is a momentous feeling.

The best advice I can give is to try and go into it with no expectations. A blank slate, if you will. I've gone into it before only to have any preconceived expectations shattered before my eyes. It was terrifying. It was beautiful. It was something I needed to see/experience.

I am excited for you and I also feel a twinge of butterflies...but that is out of pure respect for this molecule!

No expectations, first and foremost.

When done sufficiently, this experience will flip your world inside out, effortlessly throwing any possible notion you had of what it could/would/may/should be - out the window. This experience can shatter all conceivable linear dualistic models. The experience is incomprehensibly beautiful and insanely powerful. This experience can and will change your life, given the dosage and intent/setting going in. It works with what you give it. The experience knows no depth ...believe me when I say that..

As many say here and something i whole-heartedly agree with - it will give you what you need, not what you want.

Even in the most trying moments in all of my experiences - it's always been a test in some way; a 'feeling out' of my capability as a human being to 'handle' what was being shown/given to me. It can get highly suspect at times; it can get highly uncomfortable at times. This is easier said than done ..but.. don't get mentally hung up on the pieces of the experience - no matter how it feels; for that just gives those particular aspects energy. Sail straight - eyes forward, throw caution to the wind and let the anchor up and set sail into the eye of the storm. Getting hung up on any particular aspect during has usually not served me too well. Pay attention to the whole, with absolutely no internal bias as to what 'it is' or 'is not'. Just maintain a strong awareness of that moment.

This experience can move you to your knees in a heartbeat. It will move you to tears. This experience can change your life in 10 minutes, no question about it.

no matter how much you've read about, discussed, or contemplated smoking DMT, its going to feel REALLY WEIRD when you get your first good hit. if you can, try to remember to relax and surrender to the experience...just let it happen.

The day is drawing closer. I will perform one extraction tomorrow night, and should be meeting up with a friend Monday or Tuesday, hopefully he's available. If not, we will have to push it back to next weekend. .... the anticipation)

Do you have a GVG? ( glass vapour genie ) I am sure you have read and seen this is the best device for DMT. When I started out I had many failed attempts using an oil burner and even a bong, Very hard not to burn the spice and ruin the trip.

If I was starting now, I would ONLY use a GVG. Its almost impossible to get it wrong. Plenty of threads on the GVG and use.

Good luck to you mate, DMT has potential to TOTALLY change your world view. Normally for the better. Its an experience that is like nothing else.

Yamma, Thanks. Heh funny you should mention that. I spent awhile last night making my own glass thing-ma-bobby! I hope the steel wool opening is big enough for a decent hit(s).

After this post I will go check out the GVG threads.

The onset is so rapid and so powerful that I don't think there's anyone who doesn't feel a small amount of apprehension. But just surrender in your totality to those first moments. Surrender with complete love to what comes up. You're dying to your petty ideas of self and what you'll get back by surrender is love itself - more love than you can possibly handle. It's the ultimate opportunity know the beauty of what you truly are.

You might wanna heat up the steel wool before hand ,get it glowing hot to remove any toxic coatings.. In case you weren't aware?

yeah for sure, I'll definitely do that. That's a great idea. I think I'll also do that and heat up the steel wool right before dumping in the Xtals. Maybe they will dissolve into the steel wool pretty easily then!

Before you place the spice onto the wool, make sure its not too hot. It will burn and just run into the pipe. A good way is to place some herb, like mullien tea under the wool. to catch the spice that runs.

still, getting it right takes practice as most do not realise how little heat will destroy the spice. The idea is to VAPORISE it. I still recommend investing in a GVG, or even a standard wooden GVG if finances are limited. Its not as good as a GVG but better than any other device as it has a ceramic disc.

Well.... guess what? Life has taken an unexpected turn. A recent circumstance has determined that I am not ready to experience DMT yet.
Don't worry, I am not in any kind of trouble. I just realized that I need to take care of several important life issues before attempting this journey in the future. Also my first extraction failed. Again, this is unexpected

Life is funny that way sometimes! Well now, whatever these important life issues are, I wish you the best in resolving them. DMT will find you again as that is what it tends to do! That much I am sure of!
