ACRB Extraction Naptha Precipitate Evaporation Options

As I posted earlier, the saved naptha from the first ACRB extraction using Cyb's Hybrid ATB 'Salt' tek had some precipitation:

Now, about a month later, as an experiment I decided to remove some of the naptha and let the rest evaporate in a glass baking dish with the help of a computer muffin fan. The result after about 5 hours was basically sticky-to-the-touch goo (with no apparent coloration), but when scraped with a razor blade, here is the result:

What are we looking at? Is that yellow "goo"? The consistency is like that of peanut butter or caulk, but it's not terribly sticky. Is it usable?

I have another question, but I'll let folks respond to this one first Smile

Didn't see your op. So that was naps that was poured off a freeze precip? But it still had that precip form? Dunno what else it could be, what does it smell like? Does it smell like tripping?

The op was in Welcome Area for newbies before I got promoted, so you may have missed it.

You are correct - that was the pour off after a freeze precip.

Smells like new sneakers Smile I'm going to let the dish sit a while before I try to scrape more.

So ... after a few days of drying time, the goo was scraped up with a razor blade. The result was still tacky and sticky, so it got rolled up like a tiny ball of rubber bands like this:

Weight was about 0.36 g. That was dissolved in about 40 ml of warm naptha (tiny pieces had to be pinched off of the "rubber band ball" in order to dissolve it); there really wasn't much in the way of a fractionation, just a bunch of stuff that wouldn't readily dissolve. This mixture was poured into the glass baking dish and allowed to dry with the assistance of a computer muffin fan for several hours. The result?

Voila - crystals! (sorry for the bad photo, but you get the picture). A bunch of tiny crystals were harvested (about 0.25 g), and the rest was very pale, straw colored stuff like pencil shavings.

The crystals were rather nice. Smile
