I don't want to make a huge splash by just arriving so I'm going to keep it simple and straight to the point.

DMT is something that I have been after and been up many night cultivating and planning so my extraction goes exactly to plan.

I am further more astonished by the overwhelming community present on this site. Whether it is the huge amount of knowledge and experience gathered by the hundreds extracting in rooms everywhere around the world or the overwhelming amount of advice to never sell/buy DMT. (Of which I was very intreaged to read so many of the same view on the matter.)

I personally beleive that there is a market for DMT that needs to be shutdown. The markets run by people whipping this incredible substance give it a name that is hardly suitable. DMT is not a recreational street drug, it is a gateway to a higher conciousness and it needs to be respected as such. History shows time and time again that gateways made for profit are among some of the most controversial and abhorent practices ever concieved.

I recently completed my first extraction. It went terribly and I am here to seek help. Pretty sure it was just my pH getting messed up, I believe that my meter is something of a POS so maybe I can find a way to fix that.

Anyway. All that above baggage aside, I'd like to say that I am incredibly excited to become apart of this incredibly diverse community of people.

What kind of extraction were you doing? I am relatively new to the whole process as well but I have had great success with Q21Q21's food safe d-limonene DMT extraction! 1.5%+ yield nearly everytime of full spectrum using ACRB.

It is a really simple extraction plus no nasty chemicals!

Some say full spectrum is less desirable and hard to handle (as in physically moving the product around) but if you take that full spectrum and turn it into enhanced leaf and/or changa it suddenly becomes very easy to handle. No more difficult to move and store than a bag of green! Anyway these are just suggestions so by all means do what you feel is right for you! Once again, welcome to the Nexus!

Just some clarifications to help out with my newbieness, how does the d-limonene extraction work. Isn't limonene a non-polar solvent for the freebase version of DMT? And honestly I have no idea what full spectrum means.... DON'T HATE MY GREENESS.

Also to answer your questions! I am using an A/B extraction mostly due to the simplicity and the fact that I can understand the chemistry involved. I don't feel safe smoking spice if I don't know exactly what is going on in the steps! Anyway, hope this helps clarify! Can't wait to hear back from you.

Ok so here we go!

D-limonene is a non-polar solvent that is essentially an orange oil degreaser. Smells great and you can use it for cleaning and extracting! Plus it is far less dangerous than things like xylene or other nasty chemicals.

Full spectrum means all the alkaloids are present in your final product and it usually resembles a goo or wax. Non full spectrum would be your pure DMT crystals.

The d-limonene tek is very simple and uses the following completely food safe ingredients:

Mimosa hostillis root bark or Acacia Confusa rootbark. The latter is easier to find since MHRB is essentially impossible to find in the states.
I usually do 100g extractions (one or two at time usually)

Vinegar diluted to 5% acidity
Pickling lime
D-limonene
Tap water

I dont want to post the whole tek but I'll try to put the link at the bottom. Basically you acidify, then basify, then non-polar wash, then salt out the DMT with vinegar. Evaporate said vinegar and there you go!

I have done quite a few a/b extractions with ACRB. Tell us what processes you used to complete the extractions and what went wrong. Likely a very simple mistake. I'm not sure if this is the sort of extraction I would specifically be looking for (however this could just be my nervous self that want's to know everything speaking as I have not yet looked at the Tek).

NEVER THE LESSER! Thank you for informing me on what the at least general idea of this tek is. What I'd be most worried about is organic compounds from the d-limonene coming over. I'm not 110% sure about this but if it is a non-polar solvent derived from oranges then there should be some sort of compounds that come through right? Perhaps there is an MSDS sheet available for this sort of thing.

When you smoke it does it taste like oranges? Simple curiousity here

I've noticed that some other people are reading this thread, so I gotta throw this out there because I am in fact a complete and hopeless noob to this forum. Is there any advice that you guys could personally give about good practices for this forums and ways to stay updated??

When calibrating my pH meter I stuck it in the freshly opened distilled water and calibrated my meter using that as the standard nuetral pH. Perhaps the distilled water had a pH afterall........... Hope no chemists see this because when they do, if the above is true then facepalms are in order.... Sorta dumped my root slurry down the drain as I was beligerent and much too confident. Wish I had super powers to bring it back through the pipes...

If you get D-limonene you want to make sure it is pure 100% and nothing added to it.

In the tek there is a point where the limonene gets saturated with DMT (and NMT as well as other compounds if using ACRB). You take this saturated limonene and add vinegar to it and agitate it (by calling it silly names... ) shaking and swirling. The DMT and other psychoactive compounds move from the limonene into the vinegar.

Then separate the vinegar from the limonene (they don't mix, btw, the limonene sits on top of vinegar like oil and water)

You then have to evaporate the vinegar. Once all traces of vinegar are gone you are left with free base.

so if anything you may have some vinegar left over but can be free based with heat (see the tek for more info on that) In theory it should only ever taste like oranges if you evaporated the limonene and smoked the remaining goo/wax. However limonene is known to not evaporate without leaving behind residue. That is why we salt it out with vinegar. As for the MSDS for limonene...you may have to google that one!
