Its like a yellow brown, like Carmel colored. I couldn't find anything on the shroomery... What we should do is create a whole forum on molds, categorizing different molds and their colors and how they look. With pictures donated from nexians and taken off the net. I don't know, just a thought. mr.smiley attached the following image(s): 0207152012.jpg (776kb) downloaded 83 time(s). 0208151708.jpg (578kb) downloaded 83 time(s). 0208151708a.jpg (1,027kb) downloaded 84 time(s)."Somthing profound." ~Someone somewhere

Could just be from the myc pressing up against the jar or some kind of bacterial contamination. Does it smell funny?

there is an extensive forum on the shroomery for contaminations, and the nexus community knowledge on mushrooms is pretty weak......just my opinion but I think you'll get better advice posting your pics in the contam forum there. Your cake looks like it could be a bacterial issue, doesn't look like mold but you'll know in a day or two if it is. If it doesn't smell bad just fruit it and cross your fingers. We're your jars consolidated for a very long time, possibly in the dark? The weird shape makes me wonder if it was an early mutant pin in the jar. At the center of this existence, it is everything and nothing, all of us and each of us and none of us. My light is now lit, and it cannot be extinguished.

From the pictures i'd say they are mycelium metabolites (think of it like piss haha) that they produce during the breakdown of the substrate, bacteria is often alot more slimy and darker brown and will smell quite off. Proceed to Dunk / roll and fruit but keep an eye on it, bacteria isn't as bad as say Trichoderma within your fruiting chamber, they sporulate and ruin future grows.

They did sit for a bit longer than i hoped, due to a lil more than half the jars being excrutatingly slow. I didnt smell it, but after i birthed it i didnt notice any odd smells. Just the typical earthy mushroom smell. Thanks for the advice guys. While i got you whats the benifits to rolling after a dunk? I understand the dunk to rehydrate between flushes, but why the verm roll? "Somthing profound." ~Someone somewhere

Verm holds moisture better than the cake by itself. At the center of this existence, it is everything and nothing, all of us and each of us and none of us. My light is now lit, and it cannot be extinguished.
